I did engineering too in the nineties having graduated in 2000. I really 'tarmacked' but later I changed my career path, though it caused many delays in life. What I saw my classmates do at that time was they approached their parents and did IT. And they are better placed in the job market now. For me, my single parent could not afford nilijituma, eventually, I started learning certificate and years later I graduated from the university. I hope this will help you call your son and you make a decision. Other classmates secured employment with Qatar and Emirate Airlines and they are leaps and bounds ahead.
