Unfortunately after 13 years in Cyprus it looks the same fayre you get in most village tavernas. Nothing special. Obviously those in the know avoid pafos and lemesos. I did find an amazing taverna in a backstreet in Larnaca though. Personally i prefer the syrian arab friendship club for the best Meze alongside Mahmouts off Franklin Roosevelt street both in Limassol. Not enough spice in Greek Cypriot food for me. There is a place in lemesos old market that is excellent if you ask for the real menu and not the tourist one. Being a brit married into a Cypriot family did make life a lot easier. My wife used to disappear into restaurant kitchens to chat with the cooks and usually came out with something special😊
