My mom left this world at 4:40AM EST 5/27/2014. She was 66 and the most amazing, loving, compassionate person I knew. She loved this song and I dedicate it to her. I love you mom, I'll see you again someday.
@humbertojimmy10 жыл бұрын
Your first sentences were so beautifull and heartfull, do you really think it's healthy or logical to hold on to the last? The idea that you somehow MUST find our loved ones again in an afterlife is the only way to make life have a meaning is sad, imo, because it makes the moments that were real have too little of a point. Enjoy each memory you have and treasure it, because we are just a collection of memories really, but don't set your eyes on some afterlife, live in the reality that is...well... the real one! Just my opinion.
@dragonseyeangie10 жыл бұрын
Jimmy David Emotions are hardly logical, least of all grief. To try and put such emotions as love and grief in a logical perspective is illogical. Logic is cold and heartless. Also why enjoy and treasure a memory if it is to be lost when we die anyway? Reality is harsh and miserable, for some people, the afterlife is the only thing that people have to keep going, the hope of a better place and a better existence than the one we have in this world. You may not think it logical, but again things like hope are not logical. To criticize someone because they dare to hope for something better for themselves and their loved ones instead of believing that they are lost forever is, in my opinion, tactless. Let people believe what they will. A wise mother once said, "Some things you see with your eyes, others you see with your heart". If all you rely on is your physical eyes to tell you what is real and what isn't then you are truly blind.
@humbertojimmy10 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say i "criticized", i only gave an alternative view. One grieves for a period, it's only normal, and after that it's pointless to hold on to it. Humans tend to move on, inevitably, no matter how much once they grieved. I know that it's hard to apply logic to the thoughts of a person during crying period, but that period doesn't last forever. The time to pick up the pieces of a broken spirit and move on always comes... and when it does, i'm sure it's a great deal better to hold on to reality than fantasy. You may say i'm being picky about it, but i've seen what a collective idea of "eternal life" can lead to, in our society. and it's not a good scenario...
@humbertojimmy10 жыл бұрын
Tom Salvitti yeah, it does bother me that people hold on to the wrong stuff, search for confort in myths... there are way better alternatives for confort than a lie.
@animusrex10 жыл бұрын
Jimmy David Im aware of alternatives to the things I feel are right. My mind is already made up just as yours so too bad it bothers you. Life is too short to be bothered by others beliefs. We'll all find out the truth one day.

Little by little I've come to this point On my own I've been searching my way I lost you so early The days went so fast You don't know how I prayed every day A song to remember A song to forget You'll never know how I tried To make you proud And to honor your name but You never told me goodbye Now that your are gone Casting shadows from the past You and all the memories will last Don't you cry Or suffer over me I will be waiting for you Don't you cry Angels never fade away I'll be watching over you See you through Now I'm a man and I'm feeling you still Could it be you were there all along A time to surrender A time to forgive With solace I give you this song Now that you are gone Casting shadows from the past In my dreams I hear your voice at last Don't you cry Or suffer over me I will be waiting for you Don't you cry Angels never fade away I'll be watching over you See you through I can see you tonight In the pale winter light Father and son again The bond of blood will never end

I lost my grandmother two weeks before this past Christmas. It has been the hardest time of my life moving past her passing. She practically raised me from when I was a child...but I am extremely content and relieved that she is finally at rest and no longer suffering anymore. I miss her so...and my heart also goes out to the rest of you who are on the same boat as me.

I will never truly believe that you are gone...and i know that i never had to say that i love you, that you are my hero, but i really wish i could do that now. It hurts cause you actually never said goodbye, that my last memory was just a sound of a door closing. I hope you are doing well, i hope that all pain is gone, at least for you. Take a rest, father, and watch over me.

Very personal song to me. I lost my mom back in 2013. A week after that happened I went to see Kamelot. I had tickets purchased awhile before and as anyone who has lost a close loved one will tell you sometimes you just need to do something with your time in the days afterwards. They ended up performing this very song...which as far as I can tell they've only ever had this song on their setlist for two North American tours, it's not a staple for them. Still a night I cherish to this day.
