God the reverberations of the ticking, each click rattles your skull letting you know that time is limited and it’s slipping from our fingers quicker than ever

I'm a misanthrope, meaning I hate humanity. "Tell me that you're torn asunder, from how we fail to learn. And tell me as the Earth goes under, where's your anger now?" That's so laser aimed at me, goddamn. I hate so intensely, and just... fuck. Third time crying over that set of lyrics, now.

I used to be the same way... Until I realized so much of my energy was being wasted on hate and anger over people and things I could never change. Our time is limited. Focus on the things that make you happy. People aren't worth your energy.

The song is excellent, but boy that solo is the most uncreative thing I've heard. Lazy as fuck

@@musicfhdhq3454 op has a point, y'know. I feel the same way about most of the album. So much potential here, wasted. Such an amazing opener in Rule the World, followed by a veery mediocre song (not that big of an issue, PftP also suffers from the same problem) and then, The Human Stain, a masterpiece of a song. Unfortunately, everything after that is...forgettable? Boring? Uninspired? I don't know, it's just not Kamelot anymore to me. Some of the best tracks here, Pendulous Fall and Season's End. are bonus tracks. Meaning they didn't make it on the album (probably). Why? Didn't fit the theme? Then why is Anthem the closing track??? (I assume ya know what it's about) PftP may have its issues (like song order) but still remains (to me) the better album. I even feel like you could easily swap out the release dates of these two albums and have this as the final golden era album...but that's just me. Anyway, I love this song \m/

Not all solos have to be flashy, I feel it matches the tone of the song: subdued, somber. Not to mention, if you're looking to Kamelot for crazy, intricate solos, you may want to look elsewhere lol
