I'm really surprised that an operation if your size does not have an automatic feed on your sizer. . You will really benefit from the new lee app press when it comes out in a few weeks

You are tearing up those molds waiting so long to cut the sprues off. Actually they are being "broken" off instead of being cut because they are allowed to cool down too much before swinging the mallet. You can tell by the heft of your swing and multiple hits being required. Very light taps and usually only one or two max are all that are needed when you have your cadence and timing right.

I was thinking the same thing. I usually pop the sprue plate right after the metal changes colors and goes from rly shiny to slightly dull

I'm fairly new caster and thought he was waiting to long to smack the sprue. It's about ready to strike in just a matter of a few seconds if I've been doing it right. It feels natural and easy and the boolits look great. Almost no time to juggle to molds if your timing is right.

Thank you for your comment, John. You are absolutely correct. The moulds are cooled down more than the optimal temperature. However I personally choose high productivity over optimal mould temperature (which would lengthen it’s lifespan). With my current set-up the lifespan of a single mould is over 100 000 pcs. which I am satisfied with.

Very nice! What do you use on the sprue plate? Beeswax, oil?

Synthetic 2-stroke engine oil most likely. That is what most people use. Stihl HP Ultra or Echo Red Armor work the best. Not much is needed and you apply very lightly.

Льет пули и покрывает их специальной смазкой типа воска.

Пули для пистолет в калибр 9х19 делаю и покриваю полимерным покритием типа порошковой краски

@@Луковый_суп Свинцовые пули оставляют в стволе пистолета слой свинца. Для того, чтоб это было меньше пули надо покрывать смазкой.
