i know its not the most popular rider but i love kiva so much. the split timelines, the way otoya's personality is constantly portrayed as problematic (because it is) instead of just letting it slide, the way wataru evolves as the series progresses, the fight scenes, the aesthetics, the fact that the driver and weapons aren't just tools but characters, its all so good!

Kiva only really went to a mix of "mediocre & bad" in its second half. I'm of the opinion that one could watch Kiva up to about episode 20, then watch the movie. The movie is considered non-canon but, and for those who dislike how the series turned out, the movie works as a sufficient "end" to the series.

Yeah, Seiji Takaiwa stated that the Kiva suit is heavier than any Rider suit that he wore in the past due to the amount of metal which strains the suit actor's body. Ironically, Kiva actually weighs less than Decade, which the latter stated to be the heaviest of the first 10 Heisei Rider suits.

And I also really love the romance, lol) ...how did I not notice Kitaoka's House as a modelling place before? Oh right, cause I haven't watched Ryuki then. Did they? Whenever I watch Otoya he doesn’t seem to play what I’m hearing and has generally really weird bow movement that works contradictory to how you should play. Wateru’s actor Koji Seto I’ve heard learned a bit of violin but not enough to hide that they just overlapped a recording on top of him(and I’m not pointing out sound quality, I’m just saying general bow movements and fingering).

They probably learned how to hold the violin but they sure cannot play it. As a violin/viola player, they don't hold the bow correctly and the fingering is far too static plus the bow doesn't synchronise with the notes played (especially the higher notes). Apart from that, Kiva is my favourite Kamen Rider series and concept.

I think the main similarity between Kiva and Super-1, who we got the first episode put up a little before this is the sharp, pointed eyes, and the colorful-ness. In Super-1’s case, it’s the Five Hands, the different color-coded gauntlets with different powers and weapons while in Kiva’s case it’s the different colored interchangeable forms

honestly, they could probably observe Fansub groups and their habits of trasnlation and use that knowledge to figure out good methods of doing the translations themselves. Or, hell, pay fansub groups to use their subs. They're probably loath to do it since it would mean, in their eyes 'encouraging piracy' but this 'piracy' only happens due to a lack of distribution to other countries. A box set or the like with subtitles in other languages (possibly even translator's notes too to help people learn a bit more about japanese and maybe draw fans into showing interest in other yet untranslated shows) would be a perfect counter, it's basically doing what fansub groups do but potentially better.

Spider, Bat, cobra were the original kamen riders first enemies so each series tends to do it as well as a reference

Another thing is that the source to their power always related to the villian, almost like Faust's contract. It's always about how you use the power, unlike pure justice vs evil in supersentai.

Good thing for wataru even he grow up without parents and isolated in his house there's megumi and nago who he treated like a brother and sister and also Shizuka as a good friend/potential love interest who educated him to live his life and defending from the people who judge him it's not easy for wataru to live his life as a fangire and a human especially he is different from others who lives in this world
