^Been a month since you asked and I doubt he'll answer.. they're usually just called parties or raves, nothing special. Raves are most likely to have more electronic and upbeat music like the soundtrack. Depends on the area of the US, though, and the host. I'm sure it's the same outside of the US

Whenever I'm in the Vortex Club Party, it feels REALLY uncomfortable. This is where you see the Blackwell Students at an all time low. Even after the Kate Marsh Incident (whether you save her or not), they STILL don't learn their lesson. Also, the atmosphere adds to it with the music which is good but has a sinister vibe to it, the red and purple lights, and the fact that you're here to find and kill Nathan Prescott. It gets me a little shaky every time, but I will admit it doesn't go overboard (like the strip club stage in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number); it actually fits perfectly, and if it DOES become too much for me, I'll just turn off the volume until I get to the VIP Area. The environments are just another reason why Life Is Strange is my favorite video game ever!
