I would like to see Kamila retire from active competitions now and perform in shows as a professional skater while learning at school & university on how to coach. Yes, I think she could become the ultimate coach in the figure skating world without the pressure of skating competitively any longer.

I must say I always felt for Valieva - she is the one who's the victim in this whole story - she just wanted to skate, please her strict coach, and she probably never had any idea of what she was given and that it was not permitted. I have no doubt that her international career is over - this particular coach brings out 15-year-old girl skaters every few years who can do all the difficult elements and three years later they are already burned out. And this particular coach also said she prefers training girls because they are "more eager to please" and therefore "more manageable" - don't get me started on how much of a witch and child torturer I think she is. I have no doubt that she was the one in control of the situation, i.e. deciding when and how many pills the girl should be given and Kamila was just to afraid to answer back or question anything. You are right entirely in your opinion that it's unfair that she was not in control and gets all the punishment - the punishment should go to the people who are in control! For this girl, figure skating has been her entire life and now she just has this pulled from under her, whereas I have no doubt she would flourish if she were to continue under another coach. After the reunification here in Germany, stories came out about various athletes who were simply told that they were given "vitamins" (for which they had obtained the parents' consent with sneaky practices beforehand) and in most cases the athletes were not told what they were being given. Some were now suffering from conditions which the doctors did not know how to treat because they had no way of knowing what caused it. One of the cases was aa female shot-putter who had been given so many male hormones to "boost performance" that she actually became transsexual. I have no doubt that this girl is a victim just as these former GDR athletes were, only that things are probably much worse in Russia now.

honestly, Kamila's case is just another example of how Eteri and her possy can get away with whatever they want as long as they keep delivering results. it's such a shame that her career will struggle and her reputation will be affected because she rightfully trusted her coach, and her coach just so happened to be someone as ill intentioned as Eteri. Kamila is a natural prodigy, and i honestly believe she can make it if she keeps pushing, but she needs someone by her side that she can trust, because after everything Eteri basically betrayed her to the most fundamental level. yes, she was 15 and she probably had some vague idea of what was going on, but she was basically isolated by the way Eteri trains her skaters and even if she wanted to question things or speak out, she would've been faced with the same nasty treatment that other skaters that "cross" Eteri have experienced. it also doesn't help her case that the few skaters that have tried to speak out against Eteri have been relentlessly critized by the media. it's just such a sad and frustrating situation all around, and i honestly hope for the best in Kamila's future.

Evil Eteri is like evil Russia... what do you know about it?) You read too much propaganda) Everything has a cause and effect, there must be a motive for action. Eteri has many champions and all are clean, Kamila has also always passed clean tests, including the Olympics. Why would a coach give such a talented girl a microdose before the Olympics? To ruin careers of herself and Kamila, but for what?) Or maybe this is beneficial to ill-wishing people?!

About this medication...Kamila was not doped. It's not a PED. There isn't one research study that demonstrates this drug is beneficial for figure skating. This drug shifts substrate utilization from fatty acids to glucose, because the pathway for glucose requires less oxygen, although it yields less energy and contributes less to the total energy production that is done within the heart. The net result is an overall reduction in energy generating capacity of the heart. The drug throttles the dominant pathway using fats and ramps up the pathway that uses glucose. This is helpful for someone with heart failure, for example, but does not help an athlete. You can't supplant all the energy you would normally get from normal metabolism if you shift to using more glucose. It's also important to note that the heart is very demanding, metabolically. If the heart used a ton of glucose, there's a danger of it not being available for the brain, and we have evolved to use lactate for energy in the heart. As exercise intensity goes up, lactate usage goes up considerably. At super high intensity, it's lactate that fuels the heart and it augments the pathway that uses fatty acids. This drug interferes with that. This drug would be a deficit for an athlete performing high intensity work like figure skating. There's a lab in Europe that looked at how often this drug appeared in samples, from the time before it was banned. The ratio was 24 out of every 10,000. A drug that is easy to get, cheap to buy, and flushes out of your system quickly, would be in a A LOT of samples if it was effective and legal. Also, this drug has never been tested in pediatric populations and there are potential motor control problems that are a side effect. You can't give a child this type of medication. There's no way a 15yo girl in figure skating is shopping for PEDs. An adult gave her this drug and given it's lack of PED effect and possible side effects, it's abhorrent that someone did this to a child. Every adult, including USADA, WADA, IOC, CAS, is a failure here, and especially whoever gave her the drug.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this to be honest. Glucose is the primary metabolic fuel for the body, and is the only metabolic fuel used by certain types of cells (for example retinal cells in the eyes). Do you mean that glucose, in times of lower oxygen, does anaerobic respiration and so is converted from pyruvate to lactic acid, generating lower ATP but in the absence of oxygen? This is instead of entering the tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA, Krebs Cycle, etc) and then oxidative phosphorylation. For fatty acids, as the tails are long chains of carbons, it is more efficient (when the oxygen supply is good enough) to break off 2-carbon long molecules that associate with Acetyl-CoA and enter the TCA cycle. This just cuts out the first stage of glycolysis. In times of low oxygen, this doesn't happen because the TCA cycle slows due to the lack of oxygen for oxidative phosphorylation, which means fewer redox partner molecules to help with the TCA cycle. Anaerobic glycolysis is helpful for renewing NAD+ Trimetazidine causes vasodilation and widening of the blood vessels, which would allow an athlete to have a better oxygen and nutrient supply to their tissues and muscles. Figure skating is still a sport and so using a heart medication would allow KV's heart to work better and so she would still have an advantage over the clean athletes. (Also your first paragraph reads eerily similarly to the Wikipedia article for fatty acid metabolism)

Thank you for covering this and I agree with you. Im tempted to make a video on my silly animal channel about this as I'm so passionate about it. Something along these lines occurred. There is no way Kamila knew. Russian ballet and figure skating training is literally militarized. They are the best in the world at ballet and produce the most prima ballerinas not only for themselves, but also dancing for companies around the world. They are also renowned for figure skating and have countless coaches and athletes teaching figure skating and training around as well as well. Many Russians in the US teaching both ballet and FS as well as second gen Russian Americans performing (Ilia Malinin, and Barishnakoff the famous Russian Ballerino). I say all this to emphasize how seriously these artistic sports are taken. Look at the recent athlete, a young figure skater that literally ran away from her coach. The coach does not allow her to speak to her own family. Not Eteri, a different coach. The bottom line is that they came to her and gave her some nutritional supplement and told her to take it, and unbeknownst to Kamila, it was laced. They knew she could do it on her own, but considering the malnutrition, deprivation, hydration restrictions that they do, it is likely that these girls can get heart palpitations and they thought Kamila might need it. Then when it came out, Kamila was bewildered. She probably learned of the betrayal, but was in no uncertain terms told that if she told the truth of what happened that she would a. Disappear or B. That they would ruin her life. After all, Eteri has Much more power than Kamila and the government may support which is in full compliance with Eteri. Thus, Kamila was thrown to the wolves as I've said as well and made to summon the excuse of grandpa contamination since he was prescribed the medication anyways. I'm sure Kamila was some serious resentment against her handlers even if she doesn't show it. It's tragic because how she left Russia and went to train with Brian Orser, I truly believe that she would be recognized by everybody as the world's greatest figure skater ever. Most people already think of her this way, but some childish she say oh well it's because of angina medication. No, most people already think of her this way, but some childish she say oh well it's because of angina medication. No, I know people that took that medication and it does not magically give you insane artistic abilities. Following her career from 6 years onwards you can see she was a prodigy. I agree Kamila is innocent. Just a comment on your thought about the medications for "palpitations". The doping drugs are for endurance. Not palpitations. The cardiac drug dilates blood vessels, this increases blood flow, therefore more oxygen is provided to the cells and tissues. These skating routines take enormous endurance.

WADA verdict was pretty much expected for this case, it’s not them, but the adults around Kami who completely failed this talented girl... Why wouldn’t her parents demand an investigation (on her couches or team’s doctor at that time), why would her “defenders” and couches immediately come up with some wild conspiracy theories about “Grandpa’s water”, and later change the story 100x times? That was kinda the worst and most suspicious thing they could do, basically proving the positive doping test wasn’t really an “accident” and smb was aware it all could’ve been found out at some point. I’d assume the final decision wouldn’t be so harsh on Kamila if the responsible ones had the balls to turn themselves in and admitted doping a minor (probably without her even being aware of that), but unfortunately everyone’s just saving their own asses and not giving a fck about another “expired skater of Tutberitze” who just had her whole career, reputation and life ruined by them

@@primalcritters thank you for excellent comments.. no fifteen year old takes a dangerous heart medication intentionally. she is going to do everything her coaches tell her to do. she was the best young skater at every age ever. Girl on a Ball was incredible at such a young age. Kamila is a victim here. the sad and evil thing about it is that these super sanctimonious and pious antidoping agencies think they are justified in going after russia by punishing an innocent chld, just like countries seek retribution on other countries and kill innocents and consider it mere collaterial damage. human beings always think the sacrifice of innocents is within their right in order to take revenge on someone else who they feel wronged them. kamila the innocent is punished, and dr. shvetsky and eteri tutberidze's school face no consequences. if kamila was doped, then all the other girls like trusova and sherbakova were doped- they just did not get caught. kamila is the best figure skater ever. she needs to stay strong, train on her own and come back and win! i am sure she is innocent of any intentional wrong doing. that medication could not possibly her help artistry and athleticism. the pious ones jumping for joy who feel this punishment is justice make me sick

@@primalcritters second that! There’s little to no way smb came to a 15 years old athlete with “oh, hey, here’s some TMZ for you, it’s actually a heart drug which is also banned / considered doping, but don’t you worry”; telling her the truth would be a potential threat towards the whole Tutberitze team, bc had Kami known everything and got caught, there would’ve been a big chance of her unintentionally exposing the responsible ones, bc she’s still an immature young girl at this point, who definitely wouldn’t know how to keep calm in such a stressful situation. Her family might have been aware tho, and either they’re being threatened (there’re already so much pressure and blame on Kami for “letting down her country and being a traitor”, with the power and connections of Eteri it could be easily turned into a mass bullying) or well paid for their silence… Besides, we are all familiar with “high-quality” brainwashing and propaganda system there, which could also be the case, meaning Kamila and her parents were led to believe those conspiracy theories about “cruel heartless west that framed an innocent child bc they couldn’t accept the greatness of ruzzia🤡”, especially since Kamila’s tragedy was successfully used for political propaganda and justification of the putler’s crimes in Ukraine… so basically she still might not even understand, who’s responsible for ruining her life And as for Eteri… well, I kinda have to give her credits for being a smart and cunning businesswoman, she’s not even trying to hide she’s good at adopting to the circumstances - such as getting her business running at any cost, providing the country with a “factory” of unique young athletes (and successfully getting rid of them once they are expired and don’t make a good look for her brand) and not getting any questions asked in return. However, she alone isn’t the problem (Gorbacheva’s drama is another proof for that), the system is. As long as ruzzia exists in its current form, there’ll be other “Valievas” with heartbreaking stories and ruined lives. Sadly, Kamila was just unlucky enough to be born in the country, where human life has no value… I really hope she’ll be able to find the happiness she deserves in something outside of fs🤍

This doping story is a fiction, an excuse to deprive Kamila and the entire team of the medals. Just corrupt business and politics. The most disgusting thing is that *the athletes themselves suffer the most* , who are not to blame for all this. Valieva was subjected to enormous pressure at the Olympics (and still got 4th place even with falls -- that how great she is), the next two years became *hell* for the teenager. A disgrace to the entire Olympic Committee. Valieva *was clean* during *the Olympics* . They found doping in December 2021 and *concealed it* . WADA, CAS, ISU, The IOC should haven't allowed the athlet to participate in the Olympic, they should've forbid her to arrive to Beijing. But they hid it and blame Valieva only *when Russians had won the Olympic Gold* on February 11. Coincidence? Obviously it was a setup. Those who say that a 4-year disqualification is no big deal simply do not understand how short the life of professional athletes is. And it’s not only about the deprivation of medals from the Russian team and all Kamila’s medals since December 2021, but also about the fact that Valieva *can’t even train now, she can’t even perform in shows* sponsored by the Figure Skating Federation. She is thrown out for 4 years not only from the sport, but from skating in general . Can you imagine football without Messi, Pike, Alves? So there is no figure skating without Valieva. One of the most talented figure skaters in the world was destroyed with this corrupt decision. And how, in this context, can American athlets rejoice at the fact that they were given gold? *You cannot build your happiness on the tears and grief of the child* . Yes, there are no weak athletes at the Olympics. But let's admit that in women's single figure skating, Russian skaters are on a completely different level. And Russians love this sport, the Russian Championship is held in crowded stands, and the level of skating there is like at the World Championships. And even among them all, *Kamila Valieva is the rarest* talent, artistry, technique and complexity. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qofIc4Slp82hfJY It’s simply a crime to throw her out of the sport for 4 years, given that the CAS arbitrators themselves say that Kamila is trustworthy, and one of them was against a 4-year ban. Although, of course, in any war those who suffer the most are those who have nothing to do with it

She could change coaches -she could talk and prevent others from living or experiencing things like this with these coaches. She is old enough now. But she might get a lot of money and opportunities for not talking and being a proud Russian fighting the evil west. The IOC must change the rule for minors. They allow anonymity in doping cases if an athlete is under the age of 16. It seems clear where they get the drugs from and who introduces them to doping. If parents don't know which coache is involved, they can't protect their children.
