Another great shave! I REALLY like what you did with the handle on that kamisori. Kamisori can be tricky to shave with. "Technically" they're supposed to uses with the right hand, but obviously both sides can be used to shave. I have one, and want to get another. I need to learn how to hone it properly. @@EdgeDynamicsEnglishRazors Perhaps handling the kamisori on yourself is not very practical as it is more appropriate for one person to use on another person. I think the Japanese didn't shave themselves...🤔

Why dont you you used de Ura face (stamped marks) of the Kamisori outwards of the face?

@EdgeDynamicsEnglishRazors Try tô make vídeo in the proper japanese way: with right hand and the URA face of the Kamisori always outwards of your face! First North to South and after South to North!

Good job all around! I tried to repair the edge on a Kami but the guy said he tried to hone it and I stopped...I know one side of the razor takes a pull action while the other takes a push action on the stone. Of course you know this..Something else you know is the true Kami was meant for the mans wife to shave the man and not meant to face in different directions like we would with a straight on each side of the face..Interesting video for sure. Can't imagine the work you put in for the scales alone! Cheers!

Thanks Guy, I will keep at it for a bit longer. It is super awkward but i think the steel has something to offer. My missus hurts me with an electric shaver on my neck, imagine if i let her loose with a Kami :/ Cheers & Thanks

That was a lesson in concentration! It polished up pretty well and the handle (scale?) is well done. But that learning curve for shaving with those has always put me off trying one; it's not as if i can't find plenty of ways to cut myself as it is! T

Hi Trunker, It was way more difficult to shave with than I had anticipated. Without a tang to hold the angle of the blade is not set and there is just an overall awkwardness but maybe I can get used to it :/ Cheers

I have a kamisori by very rarely use it. The asymmetrical grind takes some getting used to but as you predominantly use one hand it should actually be easier. Mine always feels like it wants to bite and I meant to put a different edge on it but never got around to it. I think as it's a thick blade a coticule edge would probably go very well with it but some would accuse me of heresy.

awesome job mate asymmetrical grind bet that was interesting to hone . i found they are sharp a hell normally and you really have to bring your a game tip is lethal like a spanish point 🤣🤣🤣 . you did way better than me on your fist go and managed a commentary top job my friend
