@Xpgamer Jr No. I wish people would get their facts right. MBD if you catch it fast - within 24/48hrs - is entirely curable. It takes time to cause damage because it causes damage as the animal grows. The bone grows deformed and weak because the vitamin D³ is important in skeletal physiology. Humans used to call something similar Rickets. There's also Ehlers Danlos (collagen malformation) and some Mosaic conditions can cause bone pathology. Give the animal uv light and a calcium shot from vet - perfectly fine. First symptom is a very fine trembling in toes and feet - a bit like tiny Parkinsonism. You have to catch it then or damage *will* start being done. You can also get vets to do a blood test on lizards but it won't be cheap or particularly quick.

Oh he just ADORES YOU!! And why wouldn't he? You're by far one of the kindest most compassionate animal Guardians I've ever watched! That rub down with the brush must feel SOOO GOOD to Slinky. They're not able to reach that part of their enormous bodies so you do it for him.

Ah, tegu. Piece of advice - don't let a tegu smell a fox (you'll need new jeans - teeth like a Damascus scimitar) and don't try and open a mouth when she has a tooth ache. PS if you think your male is impacted but you can feel little lumps inside belly - he's not a male - and you are about to have 42 tegu eggs.

@@lexslate2476 I think I've seen a tortoise brush set up like a "car wash" online somewhere. They show this in a KZbin video. The brushes are arranged in a triangle so that the animal can walk through the middle and brush the back and sides of its shell. At least some individual tortoises like the brush set-up.

You're forgetting the Slinkster ate 2 snakes in the last 3 years... A python that was vacationing at Kenan's and a water snake. I definitely know Slinky wasn't on his best behavior with that water snake. He was anything but friendly and peaceful towards that meal, too! 😱

Chlorhexidine is a staple here on our farm - you can use it for disinfecting all kinds of things, highly recommend buying the concentrated form to keep on hand, will be a lot less expensive than getting it from your vet.

I have a little blackthroat too, Thunder Lizard. He was at an exotic pet store for 3 months,they treated him for parasites. I've had him for about 3 weeks, very healthy but Bobby crashing made me so paranoid that I took him for a healthy lizard check up today. He is healthy, they did a fecal, vet said they saw "a few swimmers" he was treated, and got a microchip, he's doing great and I have piece of mind. Thank you.

Props to you for talking about how easy it is to get overwhelmed. And yeah, it's important to ask yourself if you have pets or if you have livestock. If you don't have the time to develop a relationship with one of your animals, then it's not a pet, so either it's a source of income, or you're a hoarder. And yeah, focusing on your A list reptiles will make for better content. Like, make a 30 minute video of you just hanging out with those two rock iguanas. They're the best.
