Maybe instead of going strait to mixing in some black for the edge shadow gradiant, take the base color and mix in its opposite. You'll get a dark, tinted brown that with help add contrast to it. Then add a little black.

I was really intrigued by the fact that Benni used as base the golden spray. I repeatedly had problems with it. Whenever I wanted seal it (and I tried a TON of things), it would suddenly become darker and lose the metallic shine.Nobody has been able to give an explanation for this. Seeing this work with Benni's work made me really curious! Is the golden spray something special? Maybe Benni has an idea to what the problem may be? I'm really starting to hate gold paint in cosplay because of this..

@Yiakelia9 жыл бұрын
@ykaoda9 жыл бұрын
@TheFlauschig9 жыл бұрын

Hello! I'm using foam. What can i use to make it that smooth?
@OneEyedDragonParty11 жыл бұрын
One thing you could do is cover that foam is using the paper mache method which kamuicosplay also made a video on how to do that. (cover it in tape, then in newspaper 7 lastly in paper mache) and then paint.
@Iamalittleinsane11 жыл бұрын
It depends on the kind of foam you're using. If you're using expansion foam then the method Kamui used is the best, at least in my experience with it. If you're using EVA or craft foam though, then I would suggest using a diluted wood glue. This will seal the foam, since it's very porous. To get it really smooth just apply a lot of coats, but be sure to make them thin coats so that they're even and you don't have many drips. If you want it even smoother then I would suggest combing the two methods.
