I find it incredibly interesting that he is a panda, because yes those are a type of carnivore that have no desire or even ability to taste meat but the reasoning for that is... annoying to say the least, they do it because of laziness, they don’t have to chase down a bamboo stock, which actually ends up screwing them over when it comes to having kids because of their diet. Pandas are carnivores they have just gotten so used to their pathetic diet that they’re basically left with practically no skills other than chewing on leaves. Which is why I find it really interesting that he is a panda and that he’s putting in all this effort to protect other carnivores, because it kind of makes him the opposite of a panda

@@vardiganxpl1698 I think they are what we call opportunistic eaters. Their taste bud have evolved for bamboo and lost they savory sense for meat, that was proven a few years ago with DNA analysis. However they will still eat meat like little rats or dead animals if they feel like it. There's a lot of mis-information about how panda suck, that they are lazy, that bamboo is a poor choice, that they don't like to have babies. Let me remind everyone panda is the oldest bear species alive. They brunched off from black/polar/sun bears and kept basically the same form and diet. This is because panda found a niche, an area where they are specialists and survive quite happily. Their downfall isn't because of who they are, it's deforestation which all animal will die, not just pandas. They mate just as often as other bear species, they sleep more because their food source is constantly available so why would they need to work if they can just chill the fuck out and relax. Panda is a master of their own environment, it's not by luck that they survived for so long.

I’m so disappointed that Paru literally just teased Gouhin to us in the melon arc and then he literally never shows up again except being in the background of a panel of the second to 3rd last chapter, he got wasted during that arc

When you think about it, Gouhin being at the big Melon fight would've kind of undermined Legoshi's efforts. Gouhin greatly carried the Shishigumi raid so using in the Melon arc would've been seen as overpowered. I also consider Gouhin to the closest thing Legoshi has to a father so I have to wonder if he would've wanted Legoshi to solve it his way.

@@KumaOso16 Sure that’s a good reason but I would’ve been fine with it as long as he came back for a good while and explained that, it would’ve been nice if Gouhin took on the gangs and Legosi took on Melon I would have been very fine with that since Gouhin is essentially the guard of the back alley market so it wouldn’t make sense for him to not get involved at all

I didnt realize so many people disliked the ending of the manga. I can agree it was a bit rushed but i dont think the author wanted to continue, at least from what i've heard. Dragging something out you're no longer passionate about can be really draining and sometimes make you not wanna draw or write, speaking from experience. So while it is rushed, I think it's best that she ended it instead of dragging it out for too long. Again, this is just what i've heard, so feel free to correct me if any of this is wrong! But i was surprised by how many people didn't like how the story went. When i get into stories or shows or games, I tend to have tunnel vision and don't really see the flaws of things. Kind of an issue of mine Gouhin though. Such a good character. Alot of the characters are so well done in this series and that's what made me love it. Gouhin's always been really funny to me, and I always liked his design and the way he was drawn. I never thought much about his ending though until now, going back to my tunnel vision thing. It doesn't make sense, you're right. That is a bit disappointing for his character.

@crytyping Apparently she was unable to cope with the pressure of having to release 1 chapter a week and the magazine that was publishing her work (Shounen week magazine, I think) was pressing her to make the story go the way they wanted, it was the that I heard, so the story ended up being harmed from the second half (although I loved the life as a dropout arc, transition arc right after the murder solution), but what can we do now? is that she take a break and go back to writing her stories the way she wants.😁

As a writer, I completely agree. I was writing a series and honestly no passion for it anymore. (Too much drama in the background) so I just ended it at the second book. If I feel any urge or passion for it I'll pick up the third book to start. Now I am writing a single novel LOVE the story so far. And I am currently editing part 1 of the series.

considering hospitals and research organisation were funding him and passing patients along to him before the back alley market closed, I actually suspect moving to a main hospital might not actually change his job as much. Rather he may get bigger facilities and more staff/equipment with less responsibility to subdue/capture the patients himself which could potentially allow him to treat more people. His job becoming official rather than a quietly funded secret could also create the potential for it to become a required aspect of the legal system rather than something happening off the book. All that said I still want a beastcomplex chapter about Gouhin saving Dolph from his neck wound.

I think Gouhin stayed out of the Love Failure arc because he trusted in Legosi. Plus, Melon has quite a nasty history in the back-alley market. He probably realized that if he interfered directly, Melon would never stand for it. Heck, Melon was probably aware of Gouhin's clinic, but left it alone because it posed no real threat to him. It's a lot smarter for Gouhin to make small moves in the shadows, living another day to care for the addicts, who will soon need him as a doctor more than they need Melon as a pusher.

Who's else here can somehow related to Gouhin-san in different way? Out of the question: i do like Paru decided to continue previous manga(Beast Complex) because we could explore individual old and new characters to shine each chapter one of the weakness of Beastars(in my opinion)is characters itself. It feels like Beastars have many character that could have their own mini arc and given them to shine but ignored or just plain used for plot points. One of the example:As much memorable and loveable The 701 boys is,when it comes individuality is plain and lackluster.Aside for Jack(Maybe Collet),others don't have much to do with aside being comic relief or have Omake segment(which i don't mind)and if you remove them all together the story will still goes forward with minor change.
