kanki's hate on the what he call the "middle" is so true. whenever there is a big change in history, it is always the middle class revolting. it is always us wanting for a change. but so many times it is after so many losses of people below us. lets take the current age as an example. even though we hate how some companies like amazon function, we cant be asked to give a fuck or give enough fuck to live a life of inconvenience(life without amazon) to stop this company from fcking over us, to have the leverage to say no just because you made something that made life a little bit easier you can't fck over people who are working for you, you cant fck over the environment, you cant fck over people in developing nations. but we just don't. because our morality is measure by how much the consequences of our action will lead to an inconvenience in our daily life. When you think about it like that, of course the man who came from the lowest of lows is angry at us, the bystanders. He is one of the only "villains" where i couldn't say anything to counter what he was saying. Because i am one of the people he is talking about and he is right about me. FCK THIS MANGA IS SO GOOD

While i agree that is an explanation it is hardly a justification. People act like rich people bathe in the blood of poor people when that simply isnt true. And Kanki is clearly misguidied and fucked for killing all these people and torturing them the way he does, especially since mou gu is among this "rich elite" he hates witht he power to do something but does nothing. There is a level of self-accountability people at the bottom need to have on themselves... kanki's woman (i think shio was her name) was killed by the lords of a city, taking his rage out on other villages is just fucked, no matter how you slice it, he became a hypocrite. Which makes for a fantastically written character, but still hes fucked

Kanki might be bad, but Ei Sei will be way more brutal than him in the future. in real world, Ei Sei was considered by many Chinese as a tyrant, let's leave it at that so I don't spoil it further. however I can not deny the fact that the author made Kanki to be very charmismatic. he is my favourite general in the series.

Kanki had a heart purer than anyone else. A rage birthed from the desire of a perfect world. Sadistic acts formed out of necessity to build a world without oppressors. Genocide committed for the loss of loved ones. From the beginning you'd see his sadistic acts, but to be honest it never looked like he ever did it for pleasure. His eyes always looked focused but in pain. Kanki the beheader was born from the rage he felt against oppressors and those who stood to watch. He felt so much emotions that he couldn't logically comprehend how divorced from reality his actions were. That in trying to end the oppression he hated so ferociously, he began to become a source of it for others if that makes sense. I've never seen such a beautifully violent persona done this well. To me he never was Kanki the beheader, to me he was more so Kanki the bereaved. Amazing video bro!
