Mr Dhamankar... am amused at your reference of "true tamizh nature" as the kriti itself is from a divine person of "true tamizh' nature and he composed only in Sanskrit, more prolifically than anyone else in India who composed in the same language in the last 3 centuries with the stamp of his impeccable and indisputable genius.

On this fifth day of Navaratri (Panchami), I continue to pay homage to Goddess Lakshmi. Those who pray to Goddess Lakshmi hope to be blessed with material wealth and prosperity. Even her image is shown as pouring gold from her hands. Here the poet-composer Muthuswami Dikshithar (1775-1835) describes Lakshmi herself as being golden (Hiranmayeeem); she is the gold that he aspires for. There is an interesting story behind this song. One day, it is said, Dikshithar’s wife longingly asked for some golden jewellery. Dikshithar was not in the financial situation to provide these for his wife. One of his disciples suggested to Dikshithar that if he were to go to the court and sing in praise of the king, the king would give him enough to buy some jewellery for his wife. Dikshithar refused and said that he would sing only in praise of his Goddess, never for a man! Then he created this beautiful composition, calling his Goddess the Golden One. That night, Diskhithar’s wife dreamt of the Goddess who came and poured gold on her and said, ‘there, are you satisfied?’. On waking up she apologized to Diskshithar for ever wanting any material wealth when they were so blessed with Divine wealth. Pls hear the song followed... I heard her sing this song live at a concert in Krishna Gana Sabha. After an elaborate alapana, she sang this song in her ringing voice. It is still ringing in my ears. This rendition is short, but equally imaginative and melodious.

the best rendition of Hiranmayeem is not by Sikkil Gurucharan, not by TM Krishna, not by Nithyashree Mahadevan, not by MS, but only by one young bhagavathar in New Jersey! Can you guess who it is? He towers above all his contemporaries in all aspects. He is humble, he is profound.

Mr. Dharmankar, We feel uncomfortable at incorrect pronunciations. It would be good to learn to pronounce other languages correctly. But, some element of tolerance is needed, because there is no one in this world who would pronounce foreign words correctly and be correct in grammar. English is `murdered` (using the expression used by you.) by Indians every day in more than one way. But, we would never stop using the language!
@balanr17295 жыл бұрын
There us no place for tolerance in Samskrutham as once you utter a word in correctly its meaning itself changes. Simple example. Kumbakarnan was an astute devotee of Vakhdevi. He wrongly uttered Nidrotsavam, instead of Nityotsavam and he was granted the boon of continuous Sleep. Hope you understood. In any field quality cannot be and should not be compromised in the guise of Tolerance. 🌷🙏

Amma. Totally wrong. Anu Pallavi 2nd line is very clear as to what he needs from the Devi. This Krithi was composed as his second wife was only after Jewels and wanted her to realise the true value of human life. 🙏🌷

She shows her true tamizh nature by murdering a few words in charanam. Both parAm and varAm are sung as barAm!! She belongs to a school specializing in dikshitar krithis which are mostly in sanskrit. Needs to take care.

indeed Rohit, she is a Tamizh. Even the Rig Veda, the oldest of your vedas has 40 Tamizh loanwords atlesat, so I will consider her no less than a goddess who sits in dwarka and for your information... dwar(துற) ... akram (அகம்)are both Tamizh words. If the gods themselves borrow from Tamizah while writing the Vedas then she has to be a goddess for saying the shlokahs with a Tamizh twist.
