I'm in Budapest right now on a work trip. Walked around the city center a bit, not a single EU or Ukrainian flag in sight. What a contrast to rest of Europe, or my native Prague. Was in the UK - Ukraine flags everywhere. In France too. But here in Hungary, there is no doubt it's more Russia than Europe.

Law is regulating the use of flags here in Hungary. Putting Ukraine's flag anywhere and everywhere, while there's no official delegation present from Ukraine, would go against the law. On the other hand, you can see the national and the EU flag present on official buildings, but mostly on bank holidays. Once again, this is the law. And that law was NOT made by Orbán.

@@Kedvespatikus Ok thanks for the explanation. I still didn't see any EU flags tho, except for on car plates. And even those, about half of cars does not have the blue eu stripe. I'm heading into the city again today, gonna be on a lookout for EU flags😉

For those who may not be clear, until now in Hungary, thanks to the Hungarian experts, the Danube has only flooded "flood areas", the buildings there were built illegally and the owners are aware of this and are prepared.

The Hungarian stretch of the Danube is always much better protected than elsewhere, because it started about 150 years ago. Then (1878) there was a big flood, and they learned from it!

On the Danube in Germany, Austria, there are dead. There will be none in Hungary, because there is much better protection. They learned from a big flood (1878).
