As sad as it is for us to see Chloe go, I can't help thinking of how the talents close to her must be feeling right now (of course, they must have known for a while, but still): her genmates, Kanata and Azki her Kanaken partners, Shion. 2024 has not been kind to Hololive's talents and fans, and unfortunately we have to accept that this will continue for months and years to come, we all know that most of them will leave eventually. As someone who’s still finding their way in the Hololive community, I just wanted to share my thoughts. I was introduced to Hololive back in August, and even as someone relatively new and not yet deeply connected to hololive, experiencing two graduations already has been incredibly tough. There’s an overwhelming, gut-wrenching sorrow that comes with hearing such announcements, and I can only imagine how much harder it must be for long-time fans and the Hololive members themselves. From Aqua to Ame and now Chloe, each graduation feels like a bittersweet goodbye, leaving behind a sense of loss that’s hard to put into words(I think part of this might be because I’m just good at naturally empathizing). That being said, Chloe still has two months left before her actual departure, so lets all cherish the time left and help create more joyful memories that she can hopefully carry with her beyond the end of her long journey.

And sadly, like Chloe, Kanatan may likely have to leave due to health issues if her hearing issues progress to the point where she can no longer hear (which will affect her ability to speak and sing, sadly)...being that she is already deaf in one ear, it is amazing that she still sings as well, with perfect pitch, as she does... we hope that day is still long off into the future, but we need to be prepared for the possibility that it may come sooner than we expect if her hearing loss continues...

Kanata would be far from the first musician to power through hearing loss - it didn't stop Beethoven. From the beginning, her reluctance to sing due to hearing loss was about not wanting to risk low quality singing tarnishing the idol image she adores, rather than from actually losing the ability to sing, so I think there's a solid chance that she'll find a way to continue singing, even if she doesn't think she will at the moment. After all, most people are terrified of disability, but most people who actually become disabled end up adapting and getting on with life - they do far better than they thought they would. My expectation of Kanata is that worst case scenario we'll see fewer live shows and a pivot to recorded songs that can be quality-checked and re-tried before release.

I was there when she made the announcement that she would stop doing karaoke streams like she does back in the days and started going hard on them till the last one. After that, I haven't seen a single karaoke like she used to do and I miss them dearly. I still rmb how it felt watching and listening to her late into the night as she sings her heart out. Now the only times I am graced with her beautiful singing is when she do 3D performances and boy do those go so fking hard.

I don’t even watch Aqua yet I still feel devastated during that time, now I almost felt nothing to Chloe’s. I thought I was emotionless, maybe grown used to it, or because I don’t actually watch her. Watching this clip made me teared up. It made me realize, the most saddest thing about graduation isn’t the loss of an oshi, or the fans. It’s the friends & colleagues they left behind. Probably, the reason why Aqua and Ame graduation is kinda shocking, because it is the 1st and 2nd graduation after 2 years in Hololive (Mel is not included because I believe she still want to continue stream but yea something happened). So with their graduation, we just realized or remembered that all of these talents gonna graduate for sure and we expect that many graduations will come soon or later. Like what you said, the one who always gonna get impacted is the other talents for sure. They cannot do collab or stream together anymore. Even they still can have fun in real, but it will be different with when they have fun together as Holo members or talk a common topics that related with their Hololive jobs. Honestly, I am still thinking about what that affliate thing. If we looked at what Kanata said, it is nearly impossible that Chloe or Ame gonna appear in any big collab games / stream and seems only appear in song or merchandise, which is I agree with her that it just same with graduation (also not sure about 3D live though).

Yup, i felt the same way. Thats what 3 graduations and a termination in a single year does to you. I was shook when Coco announced her graduation, as was everyone else because it was the first one and i think nobody actually expected someone to leave Hololive on their own, because it was THE company to be in as a Vtuber. With all these graduations this year alone i cant help but think something is going wrong behind the scenes..im thinking the talents being overworked to hell due to Hololive growing so much probably is the reason, and some members just want to have fun streaming..but when you have so much work offscreen to do it become hard to have energy to do that which you really want to do. Ofc theres gonna be people that want to be in Hololive to do exactly that, to be an Idol, like Bae..but i cant help but feel like a lot of the members dont want that...with all the breaks and hiatus i cant help but feel like 2025 is gonna be another year with more graduations

One thing I think some people need to remember about graduations is that they're not always going to return to being an indie and even if they do they won't have that magic that Hololive has. All the original songs, the lore, the games (both official and unofficial), the concerts, and most importantly the interactions. There's a handful of members who are willing to collab with their PL's but there's a lot who don't and when you leave Holo you basically lose that connection. It's not that they're not as fun as indies, it's that they won't have the interactions that we grew fond of. For some people just hearing their voice is enough to bring reassurance though On another hand you have the possibility of them straight up retiring, no indie. People just assume they'll go back but take Sana for example, her PL barely ever streams and only recently was active after like a year of inactivity. For others it's straight up retirement. There's a handful of vtubers who I have yet to find or see make a return and it's possibly because they've moved past streaming. Regardless think of it like your favorite youtuber retiring, there's a lot of uncertainty and sadness because nobody truly knows what will happen. I can only wish Chloe the best

Sana case was different though, reason for her graduation was because she has her back problems that make her struggle especially if she has to do dancing lesson. Hard to say. Without seeing their private messages we only hear about the rare occasions where they mention it. But like most adults and busy professionals, they probably don't have a lot of free time with all the projects they do (stream prep, streaming, dance/choreography, concerts, recording both voice and 3D, etc). Add to that strict NDAs and it becomes hard for old coworkers to discuss work once one of them has left the company. Remember Mel got terminated for breaking NDA by talking too much to a still unknown acquaintance (speculation but no proof, and I won't discuss it further since it's over and done with and Mel has returned to streaming under a different alias).

Nothing last forever, every holomem will graduate at some point in the future. If you like them just support them whatever they do till the end.

Basically, most talents that prefer laidback streaming live will choose to graduate.... Those who aspire to be busy like Suisei (just like how miko & fubuki starting to tackle 3Dlive & performance) will stay... Hololive is getting big, have debt to pay and shareholders to pleased... they can't afford to be laidback anymore. I'm just here sticking around for my oshi, Fubuki. If she's gone, so am I...

I don't think this "directional change" and graduations back-to-back are coincidences. If management isn't the problem, then what's left? People sh*t on the idea but there is a very high possibility the shareholders are the problem. Yagoo still have the 40% percentage but it seems those shareholders have some power too. If I remember right, last month or around that time some low percentage shareholder wanted Yagoo to go. He mentioned "failed chinese operations" etc. You can guess what he/she is after by mentioning that.

I do not believe that this string of departures is necessarily the terrible thing that everyone seems to understand it as. That's not to say it's to go without some kind of discussion given Cover's recent endeavours, but I do feel that the negativity surrounding these is a touch overblown. The immediate nosedive into doom-posting, depression and weird speculation/rumours every time someone announces their exit is beginning to become tiresome. One graduation doesn't mean the backdrop is suddenly crumbling down. A small handful of them leaving after the company made changes to their ethos that they no longer vibe with is also not exactly cause for concern. It's especially strange to find yourself at that conclusion when each of them has stated that there's no fault on the staff behind the scenes and their time with Hololive has been good, all things considered. On top of that, Ame and Chloe probably wouldn't stay affiliated with Hololive if there was bad blood between them, that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Hololive is changing, and it's different to what we first knew it to be, but that does not have to be a bad thing. We, as fans, do not know the inner workings of a company like this. Unless you're already on the inside, you're probably not going to understand the whole picture. We know that there are rules, we know that there are things the talents can and cannot do. We know what happens when those bounds are overstepped- accidentally or otherwise- and we know what happens when the confines of the corporate are no longer fit for the individual. Opinions change. Companies grow. People move on. That's life, the long and short of it. Sometimes, be it for health or career, maybe both, it really is that simple. I know as well as the next guy that it's not pleasant to watch your favourite idol walk off into the sunset. I still remember crying like a child watching Coco walk off the stage for the last time. That was more than three years ago now, and it's a pain that will probably never leave me. But, any sort of fan would understand that they're doing it for the sake of their best interests and you should support them no matter what, and that it doesn't give you an excuse to start drama over their choice, because it was likely already difficult enough for them to make that decision to begin with. Graduation does not mean the worst. We've been pretty lucky that we've only lost this many up until now, but even despite that, all of them are thriving, living well on the other side. When they start dropping off like flies, then you can be concerned, and I will happily eat my words. Until that point, stop feeding the trolls, it's not good for you. Enjoy the time you spend with your idols and support them for as long as you can. There will come a point where you will no longer be able to. That's maybe the one constant in all of this, it all has to end somewhere, so make every moment count. Don't waste your energy on the things that don't matter. Make sure your Oshi knows what they mean to you. Don't let it be something you regret.

The consequences of going public as a company really, there's obviously going to be internal tensions with people who agree/abide the changes and people who want nothing to do with them. Sadly this is just gonna continue to be the case, older members will likely continue to leave and newer gens will simply fill the void to makeup the loss of revenue.
