Watching Kanata play is always nice. She's quite decent and she has a great sense of humour, both needed to play dark souls.

She got so far on just her third attempt with zero knowledge of the fight beforehand. I found Midir pretty easy after I made the “Midir is almost identical to Amygdala” connection in my head, but I’m pretty sure that on my third attempt I was still getting roasted whenever Midir detected I was below his neck (which is far too easy to do when I’m trying to bash his skull in and he doesn’t stop moving), well before second phase. Kanata is seriously impressive, she’s taken to the Souls games like a duck to water.

Watching Kanata going through this game while I myself am going through Code Vein (pre timeskip) and Lies of P (post timeskip) made me realize that theres one thing that Souls games do that most souls-like games dont; bullshit level gimmicks. Like, theres nothing in those game that is even remotely close to shit like the bajillion ghost archers in Ringed City or the fuck you gaze in Irythill Dungeon.

Yeah From is pretty good about/at that, even Elden Ring has a few of those (though given the open world they are somewhat easy to cheese so perhaps they aren't AS bullshit because of that) I can think of off the top of my head, like the frenzy eye tower you have to hide from as you climb the hill or the Golem Archer Valley before the Draconic Tree Sentinel fight/the walk up to Morne castle with a single one out front/on the way to the Great Jar arena, there are others not in the open world areas such as the frenzy pit drop, but it would be excessive to list them all here I feel.

I remember trying to kill Midir when the dlc was new. I tried to solo him like 40 times and I tried to do co-op, but everyone else was also trying, so summons would disappear instantly. I was also on NG+, so he was even harder.

I think human bosses,Friede, Twin-Princes, or final boss of DLC2 are easier than monster, beast-like bosses, like Midir and Dancer of boreal valley. Because I can understand their moves and can predict their next moves. But Kanataso is good at fighting beast-like bosses better. It means that she is not a human(yes, she is a tenshi) but a Beast…..🦍

what level was she? When I cross that bridge, Midir's fire kills me in one hit. One smack of his left paw also kills me in one hit. I was lvl 97 wearing Ringed knight armor.

midir is fairly easy once you know where to roll during his downwards breath attacks since his other attacks are so well telegraph. took me 19 tries in my first fight but like 15 of those is me getting hit with breath attack and me desperately trying to lock on after fucking up the camera. Id say demon prince is harder
