The first time I ever saw Kandace's face was when she opened for Gregory Porter in Folsom, Ca. She came out and played piano just like in this video . . . and blew everybody away. None of us expected her because she was not on the billing, but all of us loved her performance.

YES! YES! YES! I have recently discovered Kandace (okay, I'm a bit out of touch sometimes), but when I heard her sing some slow ballads I felt very strongly that she could pull this song off ( Roberta's version stands as something deeply spiritual and memorizing for me). Imagine my excitement when KZbin's algorithm brought this video up for me today. Kandace did this song solid justice. She showed respect for the original version while at the same time putting her amazingly sensitive yet powerful touch on it. Her voice has an amazing quality. I found her performance memorizing as well. Her piano work on this piece was sublime. Combine all this with her natural, unadorned beauty and she has me spellbound...

Jesus - really moving performance, her voice has a slight break, like a Japanese ceramic that cracked and was repaired, which means her voice is not perfect which also means it is a human voice - no computer robot possible here.
