I kinda relate, my mom left my dad 7 years ago because he threatened to shoot my two sisters and my mom and then shoot himself. So I didn't have a dad for 4 years until my mom met my step dad and I am so grateful because he is such an amazing dad and I love him to death. My father was an alcoholic for most of his life, and his attitude ended up with us fighting when I was a freshman in high school. He was never there to begin with. This song is everything I said since I was 7. It actually brings tears to my eyes and I don't cry. The day I have a kid I'm gonna sing this song to them every single day.

My Dad passed 12 days before I was born. It’s sad but I never got to know him. My sons father was murdered when my son was only 8 yrs old. Years of therapy and time still doesn’t fix that pain I’m sorry for your loss

I played this to my kiddos! Because i.was a single mother. I had the mindset I was mom and dad, and tried and fought everyday for my children. My daughter is older so she gets this song 🎵 my son is 13 so he's just seeing things for what they are. I had both parents until 13 they divorced so, but my daddy road the tow boat for a living so he had to bring home the bread ya know. He was absent alot but he loved us ... your a fine man Kane Brown and you sure have a beautiful family!

I pray my son and my daughter realize that they can become all they want to be that not having a father doesnt mean they cant have as normal of a life as possible. Their dads are missing out while i am enjoying it all. Wish they had them but cant make a man be something they dont wanna be or women too. Thank you for being someone my kids can look up to.
