I grew up in the system never having my mom or dad, this song hits home and me and my husband strive to be better than our parents. We have 4 babies and 1 otw . I couldn’t be happier and my kids will be loved and smothered by it. They are my world and I don’t see how anyone could leave their babies or just not love and care about them like I do mine. They are a part of us and need us to learn and grow from. I promised myself I’d be the best mother I could be for my babies and never give up on them no matter what. As I write this my son sleeps upon my chest to this beautiful song. My wife as well grew up in the system constantly thrown a bout like a boat on the ocean, my parents opted to disappear . The love of my life and I would never leave our boy nor understand why a parent wouldn't want a piece of themselves here with them as much as possible, it's thee epitome of not caring about being remembered by anybody. Never had a dad or father figure in my life, and i promised i wouldn't end up like my dad (because the stories i heard) had a beautiful baby girl and i promised my self to be the best and show her so much, things happened between the mom and i and i lost both of the thing that made me happy, but mostly my little girl. Havent seen my baby girl in a long time and till this day i still want to be the best i can even though shes away from me, i still want to do and be the best...even if its far away i still want her to know in some way i still love her and never letting go. I know this is out of the blue but i gotta let this feeling out, been hurting for so long and heart broken. First song to make me cry in a very long time. I grew up with both my parents, but my father lived on the other side of the country, and my mom was abusive to me. I learned from my mothers mistakes, and I'm a better mom to my son then my mom ever was to me. To this day although I have contact with my mom, we arent close and never have been. My son (7yearsold) is my best friend, and he sure loves his momma ❤ History only repeats itself if you let it. My parents both taught me how not to parent my own kids.

I can understand although I don't have children myself yet, I would definitely be different from my parents as well. My mother abandoned me when she list custody when I was 11 years old but before that she always pushed me away because I wasn't a precious baby or toddler. That's why she had 8 children. My father was an abusive manipulative asshole and I don't have a relationship with either of them because they are toxic and they always bring me down. My father's girlfriend even admitted to not liking his kids at all and when I was discharged from the military for a mental illness she said it must be great "pretending" to be ill so I could be disabled. Her and my dad never believed in mental illnesses. So I cut them all out of my life. My children when I have them won't be treated like I was and I will be a better mom than my mom and my dad's girlfriend tried pretending to be.

Kane Brown congratulations! I fell in love with this song, as soon as I heard it. I love all of your music, and this touched me deeply. I'm 15, and my real parents are nowhere around me. My momma put me in foster care when I was 2, my dad said "I have a family, you're not part of it now," when I was old enough to find him. This hurt me, but I have a mom and dad now who love me. This past summer I adopted my 21 year old step daughter who I can now say is my daughter. She is my world, there is nothing that I wouldnt do for her and she knows it, she holds a special place in my heart that has more unconditional love to give to than anybody else, I cannot imagine a life without her in it. This song is perfect as we did play catch in the backyard (Lacrosse) and I was there to hug her the day she was hurt over a broken heart and I did tell her to slow down a bit. One of my old friends told me to listen to it, they said "You'll like it, it's a great song" but I honestly think she just did that because she knew that my dad wasn't really around while I was growing up. I grew up without my father except for a handful of times. Didn't have really much of a step father that treated me like a father should his daughter. Always the black sheep. Always being lied about, and mistreated. There is more to life that I never had. Never had true love in relationships. I just be there for my children. Getting pregnant and being left after telling the news to their fathers. No belly rubs, no child support, no being in their children's lives even when you always asked them to be. just chaos. I believe that is why love songs help me heal the pain and the loneliness. I used to feel like I was robbed out of life, but honestly it only makes us stronger. Just had my first daughter 3 years ago. My dad died in line of duty when I was 9. It has changed me and it has been tough learning to be a father. We do our best. That’s all we can do. I’m a young father so hopefully I’ll be a great dad when it counts.

My Son William is a great Dad. He loves his Daughters who are 7 years yesterday (28th) and 7 months. He changes diapers and cares about their Mom’s well being. God Bless him.
