28:25 I love this scene and EVERYTHING it stands for. Just because of how the Giant goads the protagonist and by extension the viewer into a false sense of security and control over what's happening. By not moving when observed at first you get used to it, you've SEEN monsters like these before Weeping Angles, SCP-173 we can list examples as horror fans off the top of our heads making us think we can understand the Rules of this creature. We see these "rules" enforced by the Giant twice to help cement the idea that we can understand it. That's when the rug is pulled. And it Doesn't. Stop. Every assumption we were tricked into thinking gets thrown out the window as the Giant does what I can only guess as TAUNTING letting us know, we can NEVER understand it, or find a way to work around it. It is in complete control of the situation and any feeling of security you can get is it toying with you. This is one of the most TERRIFYING monsters I've seen in a while and I LOVE it for that.

Actually the Backrooms series is themed as per early 1980's and he was trying to capture the old VHS Tape effects as if you were watching from an old VHS Tape, whereas this series takes place in recent times with a smartphone camera recording as a blogger as the theme, its nothing about hiding bad cameras, he was not trying to hide anything, in the other series, because that was what he was deliberately trying to replicate, for that theme and time period. This is different. He even hid a few Easter-eggs in the film too example are the Document numbers, is one example.

@thebandit6886 Yeah, I think this is more fear inducing than the backrooms series. Because being lost in a shopping centre is an experience almost everyone can share. The backrooms, whilst being scary in its own right. Isn't as scary as this. The bacteria monster simply chases it's victim. Whilst the rolling giant, stalks and toys with its victim and its intentions are unclear. And plays into the fear of the unknown, like what Baz says. The giants ARE/WERE real, they were created to celebrate the building of a bridge in the Dallas, Texas Area. The last known image of it was during the mall's demolition when they completely dismantled it and left nothing but the wheel base. This series isn't over but its on hold as Kane Pixels able to continue the backrooms vids and movie stuff due to the WGA strike ending. Plot twist this is a dnd necromancer/druids lair, and when wyat stumbled into the lair he passed over the threshold of protection glyph which activated the constructs which are made to hunt down and terrorize intruders. The reason it's underground is because it's really in a planar prism, and the outside hole under the tree is normally just a hole, but wyat being a botanist had a specific herb on him which opened the portal door like how portals work in planescape triggere day seemingly random items at random locations. What's body will be revived after he is killed and used to protect the lair as a new giant. He should have put more points into detect illusion/find traps

41:16 is the most disturbing part of this video for me. Earlier in the video, we "learn" that the statue can't climb stairs because its in wheels-but we should be thinking that "the stairs is the only thing keeping us from this thing". Same logic as how we once thought that the monsters can only move when we don't look at it, only to be shocked when it doesn't follow that assumption. Hence, stairs are the next, and probably last line of defence-only to see the statue slowly moving up the stairs. Every hope you have is shattered and thats what makes nightmares and any horror scary-helplessness

The guy from the first video is based on a real person, Julien Reaverchon, who was botanist and created a settlement in what is today Dallas Texas named "La Reunion" and the giant that chases Wyatt around is made after Julien Reaverchon. Also, the mall actually existed along with the statue/Giant, but it was fully demolished in early 2023, i think.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the actual explanation, if there even is meant to be one, but my first though was a secret underground military installation. I remember hearing the US govt. goes to great lengths to provide their troops in bases in foreign countries with all the amenities they are used to at home, so this way it could make sense, if there was some sort of military facility hidden deep underground, that was supposed to have minimal interaction with the outside world, they might build a full-on shopping mall, to provide the experience of normal everyday life.

Remember one and only thing, folks. When something or someone is hunting you down, never tell them you're trying to leave. Tell them you're trying to find the most funny place here to stay

The abandoned mall in Dallas Texas that is currently being demolished had the giant statue from an artist... the lore continues

My theory: the guy is dying on the ground at the end, and the whole thing is a weird death-dream of when he went to the shopping mall as a kid.

Im pretty sure the giant is not a killer or even dangerous As you can see when the protagonist climbs the escalator the giant backs up at 30:09 even though at the end its revealed to be able to climb them At the end we know where the exit is located so we can presume the giant wants him to leave When they have there later and final encounter the giant comes out of from the side at 40:13 but not to kill or harm him to lure him up to the correct exit area rather then have him delve deeper into the facility After the moment of them staring each other down the giant collides with where he was standing previously injuring it in the process at 41:45 Now there is only 1 obvious path to take but mistakenly he slowly climbs over falling to his death at 43:13 Even after we can see him near the corspe of the fallen 43:59 near the floor

7:46 It could either be Unreal Engine or Blender. Either one of the two, or it could be another engine or software editor I'm not aware of. Or the dude has an endless staircase of a basement.

correct, it is blender... He even shares his blender files in his discord sometimes

there are probably tons of comment about this but, its called the oldest view because the mall used to exist but it was destroyed at the start of 2023

I think Kane literally just used cgi for the production of the video, the time and effort put into this series is unreal

Imagine a scenario where it’s just a normal looking video of like anywhere in Regina Saskatchewan but there are no shadows or light reflections of any kind. I feel like that would be pretty unsettling.

I think it's worth noting he was right by the puppet and it didn't pursue him aggressively at all until he said he wanted to leave. It clearly didn't want him leaving.

To be fair, this is likely the first time. I believe you are referring to the first Backroom video of the guy 'falling' back to reality. He didn't. His camera did. Dude was most likely eaten by that bacteria thing.
