Natsuki on the bad ending is exactly how my ex treated me after her first cheating and when I gave her a second chance. This is how she acted down to a tee. With the "I'm busy with my friends", when I accuse her of cheating and the "He's my childhood friend!" bs when I call out a guy friend of hers. Worst of all, she tried to reassured me that the first time she cheated "nothing happened" and she also said that "Remember, you took my virginity, I will stay with you forever." Which was disgusting. I can literally see my past self on the bad ending and I'm so glad I cut my version of Natsuki off entirely, however, the trauma of being cheated on just like what my ex did to me back then is still fresh in my mind, despite it happening a year ago.

Honestly, while this isn’t my most favorite mod I gotta say that I’m really sad to see it end. The story overall was decently written, and it had a very lively setting so filled with life that it made the mod a pretty immersive and enjoyable experience. This depth is only improved with the additional new sprites and animations each character has, giving that extra little bit of emotion that makes them more entertaining to interact with. I love seeing what mod creators can accomplish when placing the DDLC characters in a setting or situation vastly different than what the source material possesses, especially when those characters retain their iconic traits so that they are easily recognizable. JQuilin does a great job at doing this with a few major differences (ESPECIALLY MC), but at least for most of them mod provides a good explanation as to why these differences have occurred. With all that said, I kinda believe that this mod would climb the ranks if it simply had more content. This wonderfully vibrant world full of diverse characters practically demands to be explored some more! The story was great, but I wish there were more choices in what direction it could go towards, having multiple paths on how you treat the other characters outside of simply dating Natsuki or not, which would lead to you learning more information on them and various ways on how they treat you. Finn and Kazuya seemed like such great guys whom I would’ve loved to get to know more, and this Monika is, in my personal opinion, perhaps THE most annoying rendition I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing, in fact I think it was a bold move that was creative, I just would like for there to be some development in her and MC’s “friendship” (if you could even call it that), that would give the player more context into her aggressiveness and what she goes through. I feel like it would be fun if there was not only a good and bad ending, but perhaps a more bittersweet one or an even WORSE ending than what’s presented. Overall, I give it a 7/10. Story, setting, characters, and especially the art are all good, buuut I feel like there could’ve been extra depth on the relationships each person has with the MC. The major appearance change of the MC is also a little strange, because as some pointed out it’s a little bit too specific and makes it feel like some sort of self insert fic, but for me it ain’t exactly too off-putting.

Honestly, the good ending is the best one to conclude this story. kane didn't kept going with this toxic relationship, he putted an end to this and moved on to a better future, and maybe getting a new girlfriend, one that will really love him for good. And i like how monika was portrayed in the mod, she is a really busy and tired student, with so many responsabilities and things to take care of, always putting a mask, to hide her pain and frustrasion from others. but during the graduation, she just let it all out, not afraid of the consequenses, she will finally get the sleep, rest and freedom she needed, and deserved after the good things she did for the school and for her special friend sayori. This is the best natsuki mod i've ever watched, idk if this will get an epilogue, showing what happened with every charachter, or even a sequel to both endings, maybe it will have one of those, both or none at all, either way, i am satisfied with the mod, great job LG ❤

The way this mod builds on these characters feels very true to the original game. Not because it's faithful, this game could've been it's own thing entirely if the DDLC cast were given new names and sprites. But because the story has a clear profound goal in mind, and really seems to build interesting characters based on personal experience. Being a mod does enhance it, though, because you can totally see how these characters could've ended up this way from their base game counterparts, making it even more of a cautionary tale of sorts.

I don't hate on this mod, nor do I hate on anyone who likes this mod. The person who did the visuals is very talented and went above and beyond with it. With this mod however the story just feels so contrived, and I simply could not finish it due to how much like a daydream or self-insert it really felt like. Like I said nothing against the mod, but it felt so artificial that I just couldn't with it.

I could be wrong here, but I feel like the series attempts this in a way that does feel like a natural progression of events. These are just feelings about the series of course, I don't feel like it is substandard in its conception.

The bad ending on this one made me felt so much pity that I had to play through the good one again. I didn’t experience getting cheated on, nevertheless on a daily basis, but I did experience toxic girlfriends and relationships, so there was quite some stuff that Mc and Natsuki were saying to each other on the bad ending that made it somewhat relatable, and more than anything, highlighted Mc’s gullibility and stupidity that he may be aware of himself, which honestly makes it even worse. Nevertheless this is by far one of the best ddlc mods I’ve ever played through, everything is so neat and well done, you can see how much care and thinking went into the product. And this is what also made this probably the one and only mod is truly appreciate being centered towards Natsuki character, prolly cause of the such revisited vibe of the whole game. Hopefully the developer will release new similar content, even some sort of sequel/epilogue taking us past this game’s good ending, through Mc’s history in college, with maybe his still constraining feelings about how things went down, and of course more college drama revolving around him, since the developer did such fine job in this first game.

The good ending we got a wholesome girl. In the bad ending we stayed with the "sewer rat" and never got with kiki. All while natsuki is still seeing multiple guys

People who justify their cheating is BS and they always find a way to wriggle their way out of the accusations. You can't understand her explanation because it literally doesn't make sense at all. This is how my ex gf of four years try to defend her cheating as well, making up BS and just blurting out nonsense. That's how cheaters work. They just explain it's some sort of "coping mechanism" to them or it triggered it because of something about their past even though it doesn't make sense. Sometimes, they even shift the blame on you because you were not there for them enough or something along the lines of that.

I think the idea was that with Natsuki suffering abuse at the hands of her dad for who knows how long, and her not having any real friend to turn to like MC and Sayori had, it ended up warping her perspective of what love is and so when she started getting any sort of positive attention from guys she would cling to it and since she ultimately never learned what an actual loving relationship is like she just leaps into a fling with whoever validates her and makes her feel good even if it leads to toxic relationships and cheating. I think that's why ultimately the "love her" option results in MC telling her that it actually is possible for her to be in a genuine non-toxic loving relationship and that she can be actually loved, but that she has to accept and come to terms with that herself

So from what I can gather in the comments, the bad ending is called that because Natsuki promises to change and then just… doesn’t? She basically has MC get back with her promising never to cheat again but in reality she’s still cheating on him. And this is still a toxic relationship as far as I can tell given how Natsuki talks to MC on the phone. So basically, MC gets out of an abusive relationship only to get back into it. Hm, reminds me of the epilogue of a certain DDLC mod a certain KZbinr made

In my opinion this mod has no Good and Bad ending. Both are kinda neutral cause at the end of the day it all really comes down to personal interpretation and what we wanna do. You can either listen to reason or listen to your heart. Both are fine, well written endings (even though i legit had Exit music vibes after the "you saved her from herself" meaning probably something really bad happened to nat in the "Good ending") and i give my 👏👏👏 to JQuilin Now... Sayori and Finn broke up? Very very happy about it. Hated sayori in this mod. Snitches get stitches. Kazuya completely destroyed by Monika (she was based at the end... only at the end) for no reason. Still probably MVP of the mod but you did him dirty man... MC either grows a backbone and stands up for himself or lets his life get controlled by women basically. Personally i liked the bad ending more. There are some risks obv but it could be... worth the trouble 😉

I guess I kinda can see why people would think that, and not saying you or anyone else is wrong for thinking that way, but the mod labels it as the bad ending for very good reasons. You destroy basically all of your other friendships in favor of Natsuki despite all the terrible things she's done, and even at the end of the mod, she's already messing around with another dude while the protagonist is at college despite promising she wouldn't anymore. Then, confronting her about it just leads to Natsuki telling you to essentially "piss off." In short, yea, mainly negative aspects.

@nicky-su4uo Yea, I know it seems very obvious to people like us and others, but in the end, it really does come down to personal interpretation. Idk if it's meta to say this, but some people would be happy just as long as the fact that they still get to keep contact with Natsuki despite the things she's doing. That, or people could want the protagonist to suffer for what he's done earlier in the mod even more than he already has, so they see it as a "good ending" where everyone who's done something bad continues to mainly suffer at the end of the mod. Basically, the canon is that it's the bad ending, but people could have a headcanon of it being a good one.
