I'm from India and that uncle giving you guys money as a 'thank you' feels like something we share culturally. I'm sure many people, like you guys, don't really need someone to 'return the favor' for your little acts of kindness but in many cultures, like in India, people do like to repay and the other person too accepts gladly, as an acknowledgment of their thanks!

I had a Thai coworker when I worked at a movie theatre and she was slowly teaching me Thai when we had free moments and she also introduced me to some of her favorite foods which was fun! She would introduce me to her Thai friends and make me introduce myself to them in Thai and I was always terrified but apparently I did alright because they would compliment me. I miss her we lost contact after COVID when we were all let go of our jobs. But I’m sure one day I’ll see her again! Also side note, I think it was sweet of you and Regie to give the money back but be careful when doing so because some elders find it rude when you don’t accept their “gifts”.

yeah I actually notice that with most people in general they hate it when you try to refuse there gifts for you helping them. So I always just accept it even if I necessarily don't need or want it because ik that would make them have a sense of thankfulness like that older guy said they didn't have to help him which is true but they wanted to.

The part when you guys help the man and return the money 🥺🥺 The noodles (Mama noodles) are very delicious (I tried it before). The coconut drinks are good too (I tried it before! It’s best to drink when it’s summer time, it’s so refreshing). The Strawberry Wafers are good (I tried it before too-). The dried squish is good too (spicy and non spicy).
