Growing up in the South, as a black girl.. I’ve gotten use to acknowledging men’s advances simply due to the fact some become violent when ignored and in the presence of a group of men, majority of the time, I feel unsafe.. due to experiences I wouldn’t bother repeat but I’ve learned. It would be nice to have strangers defend us but it’s best we as women, don’t expect other men to take up for us because 9 times out of 10 they wouldn’t help us because “we aren’t their relative or girl” and they are more worried for their wellbeing. It’s a cruel world and it’s seemingly becoming worse as I’m now 29 years old.
