Our 4 y.o. male is a big hit with the folks in our community. He gets along well with all humans and 90 % of other animals. Ours is an incredible guardian on our acreage, watching over many other critters and his favorite lamb, our 3 1/2 y.o. granddaughter. Absolutely excellent family/guardian dog, for the highly experienced dog person with property and ag/herd animals.

We have a 150 pound male that is my wife's service dog. He is the most loving and gentle dog with both humans and animals especially small breed dogs.

Wt!.. With out any training, I would trust a Kangal for my children more than myself. By the way, if you don't have a flock and a very large property, please don't buy a Kangal. They are not pets. And also, be sure you have a pure breed. By pure I mean not mixed with a dog breed with narrow forehead like Germany shepherd or Malloniase. Just don't! By pure I don't mean Kangal/Akbaş/Malakli/Anatolian Shepherd (this is a different breed) inbreeds. I have no idea but for example Kangal/Saint Bernard mix can be OK. but I would never trust a Kangal/Germany shepherd mix.
