I Built an Epic Roller Coaster Track with a Reverse Incline Start!

Hey everyone and welcome back to more Zeepkist! Today we are building roller coaster tracks so I decided to build one of the designs I've seen at many parks which is a reverse incline launch coaster!

Its a vekoma boomerang. They are very common as they are relatively cheap for a rollercoaster and a standard layout offered by Vekoma which doesnt take up much space in the park. However, they are starting to die off due to their appauling capacity as there can only be 1 train per coaster unless a transfer track is used for the station. BTW im a rollercoaster enthusist, the first difficult turn which kAN called an "inverted upside down turn" is called a Cobra Roll and is present on a lot of Rollercoasters :)

kAN always finds creative ways to make a hard technical track, but very cool. 👍 PS: Didn't know about the accident until just now but 13 people were injured at Six Flags in New Jersey on Thursday, August 25. 5 taken to the hospital with back, mouth, and neck injuries with all being released. Doesn't seem serious so obviously the guys didn't know about it and it's unrealistic to think they should. Socks, you should know better.

would be cool if we could get one way checkpoints, i.e, it is only triggered if you enter it from the intended direction, that way you could put two checkpoints on a there and back track and only trigger one on the way out and the other on the way back. oh, and theme idea: checkpoints

Same could be achieved with numbered checkpoints, meaning you must go through in sequence. Either method i think could expand track builds.

When you first mentioned it's a reverse coaster i was sure you'd make everyone go backwards in it. Glad you didn't, it would have been terrible (and fun, but terrible) 😆

This rollercoaster was called Boomerang in Wild Adventures Valdosta, Georgia. It’s one of my favorites.

Its a vekoma Boomerang, actually. As kAN mentioned, its a standard layout offered by Vekoma and its relatively cheap for a rollercoaster so they are EVERYWHERE. 😂

I think the one at Canada's Wonderland that Kan mentioned was named The Bat because it opened not long after a big Batman movie back in the 80's or 90's. They often either play off a recent big movie or they directly partner, so there's a lot of that kind of thing there

We have one at Kings Island called Invertigo. It's a hanging one with the seats facing both forwards and backwards so you always go backwards at some point in time. Never had it in me to get on and still don't lol

It was called Face/off after the movie when Paramount owned KI. At Geauga Lake it was Mind Eraser then name change to head spin. Literally the most generic Layout.

At La Ronde in Montreal, it’s called the boomerang. It’s such a cool rollercoaster. Nice video!

Note for what Scrapman said about "it's not suppouse work for ride a theme park attraction". Here in Italy, near Treviso, there a little theme park built since 1969 with human powered contraptions, scrap metal and zero electricity with about 40 different rides. It's called "Luna Park Ai Pioppi" built by the artisan and inventor Bruno Ferrin.

Great looking inverted freefall coaster, it's a shame no one could figure out the inversion I have an idea for a theme "Correct Choice" or "Memory Game", have the track constantly split into multiple roads to take then back to one, but only put a checkpoint in one of the roads so drivers have to learn and remember the correct order throughout the track

Knotts Berry Farm in southern California had one too. It was called Boomerang and was my favorite coaster. They took it our a few years ago. 😢 Its a Ceder Fair special, they own Knotts and Six Flags.

This Rollercoaster is at six flags The Great Escape. It's called The Boomerang, makes more sense than The Bat lol. It's been there's for like 25 years.

At King's Island in Ohio it's called "Invertigo", it used to be called "Face/Off" when Paramount still owned it. I went there all the time as a kid!

Funny enough, I’m a ride operator and the image you used of the inverted boomerang also known as the invertigo model, I have worked on before. We have one at kings island here in Ohio and though it was a short time at the ride specifically as I mainly work other rides, I have worked it before!

Invertigo is seriously so much better than the traditional Vekoma Boomerangs because it'such smoother and still has strong positive Gs on the inversions as well as good whip on the cobra roll.

@@maxhagenauer24 it’s somehow not my favorite. Got to ride Jolly Rancher Remix and wow that ride is fantastic but invertigo pulls better forces I’d say.

@@jonathanwoods3136 Yeah, well even a traditional Boomerang still pulls 5.2 positive Gs which is a very lot fir a roller coaster but it doesn't really feel thst intense, I think it's probably only a second long and it's where the train reaches the tight pull out at the bottom of the first drop.

I did this track in a lobby with 6 or 7 top rated players and no one finished it. I think we had 2 people hit the checkpoint once.

Vekoma Boomerangs are actually so underated, they pull 5.2 Gs and aren't all that rough. The Invertigo ones have a whippy cobra roll and the giant inverted ones are good if it's not Goliath at SFNE.

I used to work at 6 Flags America in Maryland back in the 90's. We had a similar coaster called the Python (I think) . But it had just one loop. You start at the top, drop down and do the loop, end up on the other side. Then you go backwards through the loop. Yeah it got taken down after 2 years or so.

That is way different that this, Python was made by American manufacturer "Arrow Dynamics" while this coaster in the video was made by Dutch manufacturer "Veld Koning Machinefabriek" or "Vekoma". That coaster you are referring to is what Arrow Dynamics calls a shuttle loop and I see how you see it's simular in a way. Although Python had an electric winch launch and a drop afterwards while Vekoma Boomerangs just have a cable lift with a catch car that drops you. Python wasn't in operation for long, it opened in 1993 at the park and closed in 1998. It used to be at a different park before, it was at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey before and it was called Lightnin' Loops and opened in 1978 and closed in 1992 before being relocates relocated to Six Flags America.

6:38 I'm guessing Socks is talking about the incident that happened at Six Flags NJ on Thursday, Aug 25. If so, nothing serious happened. 13 people complained about back pain after they rode on the El Toro, 'first opened in 2006, featuring the steepest drops of any wooden roller coaster in the world at the time'. My guess, it's already a rough ride and over the time, the wood got a bit rougher. So besides it being ridiculous to think someone can't do something because somewhere something unrelated to You happened, it really isn't something people should freak out about.

From what I heard there was a “pothole” which is a small dip/divet, in the metal plates on the wooden rails at the bottom of the hill. It happens on area that has lots of weight on it at that one place at the same point. That is dealt with by replacing the section of the metal plates. The fact that the incident happened meant there was a lack of maintenance. From what I heard, employees told maintenance about it and they did nothing to fix it. An article with a quote from an employee says they have in the past tried fixing it but it just keeps coming back.

@@mcmadness110 yeah, makes sense and I had something like that in mind. If it's a recurring issue and the interval too short/the fix too expensive, I can see why they skipped it once or a couple times, especially since it's the first year of a more like pre-sniffles era. They closed it now indefinitely, didn't they? Depending on how popular and lucrative the ride is, I can see them fixing or razing it. Wooden coasters are usually more like a nostalgia thing, that aren't that popular. Since I don't know Jersey amd it being (one of) the steepest, I'm pretty much 50/50 on that though

And here people are making a massive freaking fuss about an incident that really isn't that big. Yes people have been sent to the hospital but why does this get so much more attention than people literally dying on rides? Anyways they can easily fix the issue with retracking El Toro with possibly GCI Titan Track and that will fir sure fix the issue but they do not have to di anything to slow the ride down and ruin the experience. Also right now, the CEO of Six Flags is a freaking horrible CEO and doesn't know how to run an amusement park chain.

We have one of these at Carowinds and I got on it in high school [I was scared of roller coasters and still iffy on heights] but we went backwards, and I shouted "Holy hell in a hand basket" someone else apparently said something about the Lord blessing me, I didn't hear it. Once we were launched, I screamed and swore and I stopped on the way backwards because I was fighting to stay conscious.

here in texas at the six flags in arlingtion it was called the flashback and i was the first nonemployee to ride the day it was first open and rode it 3 times in a row before the wave of kids came running around the corner.

Haha, interesting theme… El Toro just had an oopsie again, as some of the footers broke and caused a dip in the track. I think 13 people reported injuries, but most just went to the park said station. I think 2-3 went to an outside hospital, but were reported to have re-entered the park the same day.

The Great Escape Six Flags in New York used to call it The Boomerang years ago when it was blue but then they painted it red and yellow and now call it The Flash
