Nah. I was stuck thinking about how they'd probably be a lot more effective if the top row of pillars was horzontal, pointing away from the center of the farm, so the bots would have to chew through them one block at a time, not that it really mattered.

The first raid is usually 4 haybots and tonebots and if I harvest the second crop before the next raid gets there it will only be 3 tonebots and 2 haybots

You're doing something differently to cause a smaller raid. I would guess that you've only planted some of your crops when the message appears. The raid level (the bots that are sent) is calculated when that "unauthorized farming detected" message appears and will not change after. It's based on what is planted at that time, and planting more crops or harvesting some does not affect it.

If i had scrap mechanic, and a friend to play it with, I would be obsessed with it. When i play a game, watch tv, or read a book, i zone out. Putting myself in the player/character's shoes. Especially so in a game where i don't have a character i am playing as, where im playing as myself. I would occasionally get stuck in the world of skyrim or fable, and multiplayer games are my fondest memories, interacting with others. Scrap mechanic would let me make anything i would want for my own story that I create, and being able to do so with a friend would be a breath of fresh air. Especially now in our cursed year of 2020.

Can you hook a cook bot up to a chest? If you can, it might be interesting to setup a farm to automatically grow veggies in the right ratios for the veggie burgers and automatically harvest into the cook bot's chest. Ideally, you'd be able to come home to an always full supply of food. Also, I feel like they really need to rethink how the cooked foods work, both because none of you have ever found a need to use them and because one of the burgers is SOOO much harder to craft and yet it doesn't seem to have any additional benefits.

So guys, before you keep arguing, I looked it up, and apparently you are both correct. It is yellow-orange. If you want to see what I’m talking about, google search: “is a school bus yellow or orange” and it should show you a little info box at the very top saying exactly that. BTW- Great series so far!! Kan, you are building your metal fence wrong. Use *Extruded Metal Blocks.* They give you 10 blocks for every 5 (lvl1) metal blocks . That means 30 scrap metal gets you 40 Extruded Metal blocks. Scrap Metal Block = 3 Durability (costs 1.0 scrap metal per block) Metal Block Level 1 = 5 Durability (costs 1.5 scrap metal per block) Extruded Metal Block = 4 Durability (costs 0.75 scrap metal per block) You get 1 less durability but you get TWICE the amount out of it to build with so you can give it greater thickness if need be. That can translate to 8 durability if you double layer it since you get x2 the resources from what you are using now. Bang for your block. Pls like so Kan can see this, I think he'd appreciate this kind of insight.

Helpfull tip: Make a wide wall not a tall wall, the more blocks between the boots and crops the better. Make the wall at least 3 blocks off the ground.

Explanation of why you got a second raid: There are two ways that unauthorized farming can be detected. First, "tiles" are randomly checked to find unauthorized farming. Crop level must be over 10 to trigger a raid. This can occur at pretty much any time of the day. *Second,* a tile that was just raided at midnight will be checked at 4:30 AM. This increments the wave counter (consecutive nights = bigger raids) and calculates the raid level. Any amount of crops will trigger this raid; if the crop level is under 10, *you will still get a raid* of the lowest level. I know too much about this game...

Cookbot food is OP, I took forever to unlock it too but worth it when you have some spare kits and metal. Basically lets you carry 4-5 stacks worth of food in one slot, plus they have full heal which has saved me a good few times

Colors exist, but only if you're considering the exact material used as pigment. So hold on, this video is old by now, but I happen to be a bank of useless color knowledge. I don't even do much color theory, nor am I that good of an artist, not to mention I do monochrome with basic pencil and pen, but oh boy do I love colors and oh boy does those debate on bus color rile me up. Colors are best explained in Hue, Shade and tint, and what is used to make said color. (At least in paint) Hue is color like green or purple. Shade is how much black is in a color and tint is how much white is in a color. Finally, many colors are named after the pigment, or material that makes them or their primary use. (Mummy brown , Lead white, or Absinthe Green.) Yellow is high visibility but you don't want it too garish that it looks like a emergency or service vehicle. Red is also a very high visibility colorinficating to stop. Combining they two makes a color that signals to yeild The department of transportation uses this color on may things. Since buses are transport, they are also colored with yeild because it's a signal to drivers to be cautious. The same yellow can be found on those diamond shaped signs that inform of road conditions. (Would've said stoplight yellow is included but it's not a regulated yellow because the color is transitional, not necessarily signaling to yeild.) A side note: yellow to orange is considered gold. So technically if you have a hard time saying if something is yellow or orange, you can compare hexadecimals or just categorize it as Gold. Gold is a very broad term though, as it's a general term. Ireland's flag appears to use orange but is actually green, white, and gold. Gold is more of a cultural by thing, just as many colors are. I recommend looking more into this topic. Ancient civilizations used to consider blue as we know it today to be a shade of green. And many cultures have more names for minute differences in colors to hey deal with. (Places with more greenery know different shades be of green or a culture that values it's ability to dye cloth red has many different shades of red.)

with the school bus thing upon 30 mins of research (more like 10) i found that the average school buses color is closer to orange than yellow but still very close although most depictions of buses have a yellow color to it edit: the light that you see the bus in as well can also change how you perceive the color therefore things like time of day when the picture was taken and other factors can change how you see the buses color

If you're planting at midnight why build defenses around the farm at all? Only pineapple and broccoli take longer than than 20 hrs to grow and your base location doesn't have non raid bot spawns. Edit: If you're wondering about the plants that didn't grow, that's due to you watering too soon before planting. The soil dried out before they could grow. Also even one remaining plant will trigger a second raid.
