In EP6, I have shared my experience about the Kanha Tiger Safaris. Among 3 core gates, Mukki, Kisli and Khatia, we have booked 2 Safaris at 2 Gates -
* Mukki Zone via Mukki gate
* Kisli Zone via Mukki gate
This Mukki Gate and Kisli zone are just opposite of each other. That means, Mukki Zone is on the other side of the national park. So, people staying near Mukki gate need to travel ~55 Kms to reach the other side of the park and enter Kisli Zone. So, this becomes very difficult to reach on time and thus end up in missing safari rides.
There is another way where you can travel to Kisli zone which is though the forest via Mukki Gate. For that you have to reach Mukki 15 Gate 15 mins before and inform the forest office who will arrange a vehicle. That jeep will take you to the Kisli Zone from Mukki Zone through forest roads. They will not enter any places which belongs to Mukki zone even though there is a confirmed sighting in other zones.
This facility is not known to many people but this service can be available at no extra cost.
Few details of cost -
1. Online Booking for Safari should be done well in advance via internet.
2. During Jeep ride, Jeep cost is 3000/- INR which needs to be provided during the safari time. Proper booking details and invoice will be provided
3. 500/- INR would be charged for guide cost.
Though we have not sighted any tigers, but managed to spot leopards and sloth bear along with thousands of der and varieties of bird species.
On the last day, Day 6, we checked out and headed towards Raipur Airport. On our way we had experienced FGlat Tyre while crossing Balaghat Forest. So, he had a halt and I experienced the beautiful outskirts of Balaghat forest using my drone. After 2 hours, our Tyre was repaired and we headed towards Raipur airport and thus ending the MP series
