Kanheri Caves | Historical Caves in Borivali - Mumbai | SGNP Budget tour 2022

Hey guys, So in this vlog we explored the amazing Kanheri Caves under 120rs .The word 'Kanheri' is derived from Sanskrit word 'Krishnagiri' which means Black mountain.Kanheri caves sits within the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (Borivali East).
It was built in the 1st century and had become an important Buddhist settlement on the konkan coast by 3rd century.The 109 caves cut out of rock forming is a protected archaeological site which includes various Buddhist sculptures and stupas,walls with intricate reliefs of Buddha and the Bodhisattvas,paintings and inscriptions dating from 1st century to 10th century which in itself is an architecture miracle.Do watch the video till the very end to know the keypoints to explore and witness this beautiful place.

Hello guys I am Subbarao from Bangalore.I have visited this cave very long back in the year1984 .I visited all caves and by that time this area is not developed.In your video u r not commented on the in side caves.In most of the caves have small water ponds was their and it useable on that time. In the top ofrock hill one well was their and it was drinkable cold water.please again go and invent.best of luck guys
