I think it's about some kind of social hierarchy. The lion and girl seem to be important people, but the girl is behind the lion, while everyone else are herbivores or not at the top of the hierarchy. When the pyramid flips over the zebra killed the lion and now everyone is also eating meat or on the same standing which is why the pyramid is broken after. The girl seems to be praised for freeing the people/animals from the hierarchy crowning her the new leader but her desire or instinct re-establishes the problem she just removed.
@o5v33 жыл бұрын
Yep. that seems to be the story of the song, though I believe the girl planned to betray the herbivores from the beginning. I think it was just a ploy for her to take control of everything. If we see it from another perspective, maybe the girl was actually a lion in disguise, and she just threw the hierarchy to be the only one at the top, which would fit with the ending.
@EveExplained3 жыл бұрын
@@o5v3 I thought about that perspective too, just couldn't understand why she had fake fangs and shorts nails, maybe she hid them from the start making her fake.

One thing I imagine they were trying to be at the top rather than trying to fix society given they were eating meat. Unless they were only eating the meat from those formally at the top.

The girl always wins, if she's human. Outsmarts the lion man
You can HEAR the FAKE TYPE in the lyrics. I love it Also, idk if anyone else has noticed but KANKANs spotify she actually shares it with an american rapper with the same name? I find it funny that neither of them have either noticed or care.

@@diandraaliffa2116 it’s like that. A lot of that also probably has to do with a lot of her songs being covers and not collaborations so they just don’t get uploaded. I think the album should be all on spotify, at least.

without english lyrics I could only guess that this is about a powerful leader who is corrupted and had all the good stuff for herself and everyone who is second to her power wanted to live like her because she got all the good stuff. But in the end they just consumed their own 'flesh' or in an essence their own sense of humanity (if that makes sense in an animal context). And in the end they were all consumed by this figure which i could only guess, represents their selfish and corrupted desires and caused their own downfall.

I read it similar but about counter culture, people getting fed up of following brands and trends, decide to start their own that stand for their own values. But eventually they're corrupted by the money and power and end up exactly what they were trying to counter.
I can't believe I just found out this exists. I love KANKAN's voice so much, it's really powerful in a good way. I want to hear this performed live!!

Holy shit, this is the best new song I've heard in ages. What the hell was I doing that I've never heard of these people before? It's a good thing I've got my own place cuz it is scientifically impossible to withstand this song's power to shake the human ass. Also, if any fellow English speakers are wondering, unless they're very heavily layered in metaphor the lyrics don't really add up to any narrative you'd be missing (except for literally slamming down bloody marys)-It's kinda like a Beck song where they're mostly there for cool imagery (drinking blood, deadly stares), rhythm, and linguistic playfulness. Like all the best songs, the theme of the lyrics is just _being cool and kicking ass_
@reddragonflyxx6572 жыл бұрын
English speaker-speaking. I don't have any credentials, so I have some "fun" facts about English at the bottom. A lot of English songs have heavily layered metaphors in their lyrics. A very famous example of this is "Hotel California", which has many interpretations. The Eagles themselves offer differing and somewhat self-contradictory explanations, or thanking their fans for creating meaning which they didn't even consider. Generally when looking for meaning people tend to figure out the creator's origin intent, or examine the work without that context (see "Death of the Author"). I've found that both can be entertaining thought exercises. Do you think that sort of intentional, heavy metaphor is unlikely in this case? If so, is there a cultural or otherwise interesting reason? "Fun" Facts time! The "a" and "an" articles are pretty much equivalent in writing. Historically people only used "an" but we can't have nice things (or keep them, in this case). We mostly agree to only use "an" before vowels and "a" before consonants. Naturally this rule isn't based on what the first letter of a word is, but rather which sound comes first when spoken. This would be consistent, if accents didn't exist. A quick example is the pronunciation of "hospital" in British and American English; in British English the "h" is silent, so they write "an hospital" while most in the US would write "a hospital". Normally this would just be yet another minor inconsistency in the language. Unfortunately I'm in a few chat channels where people like to argue over whether "SQL" is pronounced like "sequel" or "ess que ell", and suddenly my choice of article became a contentious political statement. Needless to say, I went elsewhere to find answers to my technical question.

@@reddragonflyxx657 Oh for sure, I'm certain it's possible to extract all kinds of narratives out of it with a little concentration and imagination, but what I mean is that it's not obviously about like, drowning your sorrows after romantic trouble, or breaking in a new boy toy, or defying your super LAME parents/boss to go out and party, or any of the other scenarios a song like this might conventionally be about. I say this because I was originally planning to offer an English translation in the comments but gave up before the end of the first verse, like "I dunno what to do with this." It's a lot like Beck singing "word up to the man thing / she's always cold lamping / Visine at the canteen / I just want to watch you dance" I'm sure plenty of people have found a narrative meaning in Mixed Bizness, but the surface message of the song seems to just be "WOOOO!" This song is basically the same kinda deal, where it's just trying to sound cool, and I think it's great-I love songs that have that kinda purity of just rocking out and kicking ass. Oh that's interesting, yeah-Speaking of the history of the indefinite article, one thing I was tickled to learn a while back is that apparently a lot more words used to begin with "n" until about Elizabethan times, when more people became literate and it turns out they'd been assuming the "n" at the beginning of the word was actually the trailing end of an "an." For example, the word "uncle" used to actually be "nuncle" until enough influential people revealed they'd been hearing "a nuncle" as "an uncle" and it stuck (it still happens: when I was a little kid I thought "a ninja" was "an inja"). Shakespeare actually uses "nuncle" pretty often, and I used to wonder if that was some cutesy 16th century slang, but no, apparently that used to be the regular word for it. Wild.

i think there's a pun happening with the name of this song. bloody mary refers to a queen in english history who had a lot of people executed, but it's also the name of a drink. and both interpretations make sense, given both the images of blood in the pv as well as eating and drinking.
There is so much personality put into this character. This video is so psychedelic and pretty grotesque, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Absolutely fantastic.
