You are clueless. MSV is a great and so is Kannadasan. Vaali is not even as good as Vairamuthu who I would rate just next to Kannadiasan. You name a handful of songs and think there is confusion as to who is the better lyricist. There are some songs of TR which are way better than either Vaali or even Kannadasan when it comes to imaginative prowess. Mayavamathan wrote one song in “pasig hall mattum podiuma” and that was as good as if not better than all other super hit songs of Kannadasan in that movie. Vindhan wrote “idhaya vaanin” in “Paarthiban Kanavu” which is way better than all Vaali songs. Would it make him a better lyricist overall? Has Vaali ever written a andhadhi (Kannadasan wrote two for one movie Kannadasan’a grasp of Tamil literature was stronger than Vaali and Vairamuthu put together. Has Vaali penned songs as good as Kannadasan did with the play of words like “than”, “then”, “enben”, “Kai”? There is simply no comparison. Now coming to MSV. Vilari picked one personality in all three fields of acting, lyrics, and music and came up with the three names. While MSV, no doubt, is a genius, Ilayaraja is Ilayaraja. No one else comes close. MSV is great at tunes but Raja beats him hands down in orchestration and arrangement. Raja has more hits and is still composing while MSV couldn’t compose a lot from the mid-80s. The one or two chances he got in the 90s and 2000s was courtesy Ilayaraja who agreed to co-compose with him and orchestrate his melodies. So if I can choose only one composer, it would be Ilayaraja

@@shaun_raja 90களில் வருடத்திற்கு30படத்தில் இசை அமைத்து இருப்பார் ஆனக இன்று அவரை வைத்து வருடத்திற்கே மூன்று படத்தில் கூட இசை அமைக்க முடியவில்லை. அதை நிலை எல்லா இசை அமைப்பாளருக்கும் உண்டு. காரணம் ரசனை மாறி விட்டது. உங்களுக்கு ஒர் ராஜா போல் எல்லா ரசிகர்கள் மத்தியில் ஒர் இசை அமைப்பாளர் இருந்து கொண்டு தான் இருப்பார்கள்.
