Kanno Youko - Birden (Feat. Arnor Dan) [ Zankyou no terror ] [ EP ]

One of the most emotional tracks i have ever heard. This may sound like a calming soundtrack but, god, once you have seen the anime, this soundtrack just breaks your heart.
I wanted to give this maybe a 9.5 but i decided for 10 because parts other than starting were very good too ( Especially that guitar part at from 2:35 ). I can agree that this soundtrack is not to everyone's liking, but still not giving it an EP seemed unfair to me.
Those of you who haven't seen zankyou no terror, it truly is a marvelous anime according to me.
Moving on to effects, I really couldnt come up with anything as i mentioned in my previous upload regarding this EP. So i just went on with whatever came to my mind. This may not be my best EP upload, but this soundtrack definitely deserves a top notch rating.

"He said that in Icelandic, V-O-N means hope." - Mishima Lisa . This sentence is actually very meaningful. If you recall there's a scene where people who work with 9 said 9 was strange by saying the music he was listening was from a "cold country" thus thinking that he is impolite. But actually, 9 is trying his best to be friendly at that moment. Only if people listen, only if people try to dig in and if they actually care they will know the answer (Iceland music) and they will know that nine is a kind person (von) from the bottom of his heart despite all the things he has been through and going to face. This anime is talking about teenagers in the adult world. Often misunderstood, hated, bullied because they looked like they can accept it or look like they are fine (like Lisa). But inside them, they can't take it anymore. They are depressed. They want hope. They want a way out. They want everyone to try to listen to their stories their needs..... Even by planning a nuclear explosion to draw their attention. I think the poster of this anime is meaningful as well. The three of them look innocent in front of a fallen building which is caused by them. They almost look like a kid who did something wrong and still don't understand how serious the incident is.

the more I listen to this song, the more I was convinced that this anime and it's ost were trying to give a message. maybe some people already know, but I feel like the anime is trying to display an issue that many people seem to forget or couldn't care less. I mean, many children were taken away by force and taken since their birth without even knowing their parents. it just breaks my heart. many hospitals actually do this kind of things to people, children even. as I said earlier, the anime is tying to reveal the harsh reality of life. as for Lisa, that's another issue that this anime trying to portray. many people (high school students) got bullied. not just physically, but metally as well. but then again, not many people pay any heed about what harm could bullying does. and Lisa's life. she was abused by her mother who's constantly think that she'll leave her like her husband would. Lisa loves her mother, but her love fade away as her mother's love is no longer love as it became an obsession. another issue that many people see unimportant. her life was very dull, full of abuse. but two bizzare people came in her life and change everything. even though they were going to blow up Tokyo, but she saw the good side of them and it made her happy. genuinely happy that she met them. For the first time, she had friends rather than being alone. she started to "rebel," laugh and most importantly, she started to LIVE. but then it came to an end as the two of them died. at first, I felt like, "Why didn't she cry for them? Why didn't she weep? they were her friends!" but then I understood why : it was because of what Nine had told her; "Remember that we lived." How could she cry? crying is painful. were memories of them painful to her? no. she's happy to know them. so why would she cry if she were to remember them? also, I feel like the crows that were always in the show representing Nine and Twelve. this is because they were "evil" but ever since they met Lisa, they slowly changed. I mean crows represent devil in Latin (I think?) and the feathers that were in the sky as Lisa and the detective cross path, to me, those were the children (and Nine and Twelve.) the feathers going up in the sky means that they finally free from torture. they were going to heaven. and it's all thanks to Lisa and the detective since they remembered that they lived. and I mean they not just Nine and Twelve, but also the children including Five. and the last conversation that the detective had with Lisa about Nine always listening to iceland song, I think this represents that Lisa will not forget about Nine or Twelve. maybe she'll visit Iceland in honor of them? who knows. and lastly, I apologize if I ever upset anyone with my comments. this is just me trying to interpret about the beauty of this anime. of course, I was hella mad because the anime only has 11 episode and realize that there will be no season 2. and I also haven't watch ZnT for a long time so forgive me if I ever mistaken any character. thank you for putting up with me and reading this comment. ^_^

I sobbed for days on end after this. As dumb as it sounds, I couldn't function because both this song and that scene kept flooding my mind and I felt my heart break over and over. I couldn't do anything! I still cry my heart out to this day. I feel so empty, it's amazing how merely two characters (plus one- Lisa) and eleven chapters can have such a strong impact. I've watched some anime with way more episodes yet the pain evoked was nothing on this. We will never forget you two.

my boyfriend keeps saying I'm dumb for crying over this but I just can't shake the feeling? Like I've never been so emotional after an anime, ever. This hurt me more than Clannad. Twelve's death shocked me so much along with Nine's and then the end scene with the feathers and Bless playing.. I literally sat there, completely drained of all emotion. I'll never ever forget this anime and I'll never ever stop crying over it either. God I'm so emotional.

Twelve...rest in peace...please. It felt as i was in Nine's place when i saw that bullet pierce Twelve's chest. He is my most loved character. Seeing him drop dead on the ground made my heart stop... I saw this masterpiece about four years ago and... this music is one of a kind...sometimes I have this extreme need to come back here and listen to this masterpiece but, at the same time, it is not easy to listen because it causes me inexplicable pain....it causes me nausea, my heart tightens, my stomach gets tangled... it's THE ONLY music that causes me these profound effects that tear my whole body apart, I'm not kidding. I can't explain this effect, but this music takes me away and it hurts me..... but that's why I love it. I don't know if anyone feels the same ... (sorry for my english..)
