More importantly the precision in their foot work ,expression etc etc This dance is Classical Bhartha natyam practiced in southern part of India. As far the song is concerned this one is sort of fusion by G.Ramanathan the composer. The difference between Bollywood(Mumbai) and the kollywood(Chennai) music is the Bollywood is more of Hindustani based and Chennai industry follows the Carnatic music.

This is one such Ever Greens for dance and singing face-offs. The lead females Padmini, Vaijayanthi Mala and make lead Gemini Ganesan all acted in Hindi movies too. Though Vaijayanthi is very popular in Hindi with Raj Kapoor movies Sangam! She never comeback to South movies. At age 80+ still gives stage performances. The most beautiful and graceful woman. Padmini lived in the US after marriage and run dance schools too. Her family in India have produced few fine actors and dancers.
