Kanoa Igarashi is a Japanese-American surfer who has competed professionally worldwide since 2012. He was the youngest rookie on the World Surf League Championship Tour in 2016 and collected more Round One wins than any other surfer. Totally agree with you, they both did they best and the scores where decided by the Olympics judges. Even if it was indeed unfair, it was neither Medina's or Igarashi's fault.

I'm Brazilian and I think the silver was well deserved to Japan. Medina use to put the guilt on others. Igarashi's execution was well made. Better then ours. Just don't bother brazilians. Some of my country mates are just too ignorant to acknowledge that Medina lost and it's ok.

Shameful surfer if accept the ridiculous score against Medina. He did the maneuver holding the shape, what is easier then without hands. The score 9.33 was terrible for the sport. The olympic surf just lose prestige with this kind of favoritism to Japan, only because it's a Japan surfer! It's not a honorable competition!
