Kansas Wind Almost Rolls My Kenworth ~~ Scared And Frustrated

All I can really say is wind. We witness and feel the powers of mother nature today. And I share my frustration and feelings of the day. Heading To dodge city Kansas.

I left trucking in 2016. Enjoying your videos as a reminder of what life was like those 13 years. High winds were the worst type of weather imo. It requires every bit of concentration you can manage and even then it's mainly luck deciding your fate. Hope the winds died down for you. Get you and Bud home safe and enjoy your Christmas.

Kurt, you are a good driver, husband and father and a good person. The main reason you was so scared was because you had Bud with you. I am an old 69 yr. old retired truck driver that drove a cab over for many years I think it was in Nov. 1974 setting at a stop sign in Neb. the wind blew me over with 5500 lbs on the trailer. I have been through that many times. We just had the high winds out west. I don’t care how many times you go through high winds. It’s always a scary time. I'm in fontana, CA. During santa ana winds season, it's normal to see 5 to 7 trucks flipped by the wind. One time, coming back from work, and a truck with a trailer from target kept going on 2 wheels. I was terrified for the driver, if he flipped he was going to fall from the 210 freeway overpass onto I-15 freeway. That's a 40' to 50' drop. He was very lucky it didn't flip.

@6.03 four wheeler tailgating trailer lifts and it looked like your drives come up abit too, four wheeler backs off, i got skid marks in my undies at that point. My scariest moment in a truck happened in WV on i 81 south had a steer tire blow with 46,000lbs of bluestone on the wagon talk about need of new undershorts be safe Kurt get back to the family and merry Christmas from my family to yours

Yup, I was just going over Elk mountain, I-80 westbound, on the 23rd with 38,000lbs in the box, about an inch of ice on road, 70mph gusts, had no worries about blow over but the wind was sliding my truck off road onto shoulder. Ended up pulling into wagonhound rest area to wait out. I'm posting video of it soon. Be safe or there driver and merry Xmas.

Ah yes! things are always fun and not so funny as you set the sea and anchor detail out on the flatlands of Kansas. you'll do fine. just tap the tail air alone and the trailer will sit back on all the tires! Always best to park em before you flop em! Had a set of pups do a 360' end for end up on !-70 in a ice storm and blizzard; she stayed straight as a string; i chugged on up to the truck stop and re-packed my parachute and rested awhile!

The empty trailer and those skirts under the trailer are what caused your problem. Mainly the skirts. Have run in stronger winds than that and it will push you around and not lift, but I always had weight .

It was a nasty wind storm. I was headed out of Pueblo with AC's on a skateboard and Colorado shut down 287 at Eads. I was parking anyways. The wind was going through the vents on those 2 units and lifting them straight up. Never worth running it in wind like that.

Yep....saw those wheels raise up! The most scared I've ever been was on New Years day....coming back from northern IN. on US-31....daycab, empty reefer trailer...going south with an east wind on my left side....sleet on road...then rain over the sleet turn it to solid ice! Just after daylight luckily. Couldn't even crawl...my trailer was being pushed into the shoulder. When my steering wheel center went straight up and down and I was still going straight? Time to shut it down! I wish I would've took video of this one truck that refused to give up.....I could've posted a video..."Lesson in Stupidity"....lol.
