I like Kant's views on metaphysics. His idea that people should be treated at the same time as ends in themselves as well as means is also appealing to me. But anyone who has read the works of both of these great philosophers with an open mind, regardless of their own personal opinions, should still be able to find this pretty freaking funny :) Good show.

Thanks James DiGiovanna and Carey Burtt! Your ad made my day! My professor emailed a link to everyone in my early modern philosophy class. Although, we agreed that if it were a choice between these two we'd rather live under a Kantian administration! It might not be as exciting as a Nietzsche one but hey at least Kant believed strongly in the autonomy of individuals as willing, rational agents all equally able to know the moral law. He would want a government respecting individual rights.

This is by far the most sophisticated KZbin discussion I've ever seen. But I guess that's not saying that much...

Absolutely brilliant. If every American saw 2 or 3 spoofs like this each day, it might defuse the most insidious aspect of our so-called politics.

Two things awe me most, the starry sky above me and the moral law within me. Immanuel Kant

Hey, I just gave you a thumb up. Not only best German ever, but, in my humble opinion("opinion is a consciously insufficient judgement, subjectively as well as objectively".Immanuel Kant.), the greatest philosopher to ever graced the earth. No other man, no other philosopher, has ever gone deep, I mean deep, into pure reason has Kant did. Pure reason is the outermost region of knowledge and, for humans, he went there and conquered it.

"Mr. Kant would have you believe that reality is purely noumenal, and beyond the reach of our phenomal consciousness, thereby being inherently unknowable. Mr. Kant claims that a true deontological ethics is based on a universal maxim that must never consider specificities of circumstance, character or likely outcome. Mr. Kant holds that the aesthetic appeal of the sublime is purely in its awakening in us, a sense of our own rational mastery over situational being."
