I just received a box of ten Kantha Quilts. Please join me as i unpack them and we can ooh and aah over them together. I will also share some ideas on how you can use them in your home decor and a brief history on where they started.

Accidentally came by your video. I am Bengali woman from India. These Kanthas are leisure work of our grannies and mothers. I have picked up from my mom. Loved watching your un boxing. You are full of ideas of how to use them. Traditionally these were made from used sarees, our traditional dress. Thank you for liking them so much.

Wow!!!! You and I share the love for colors!!! These are beautiful, plus I never knew anything about this tradition. Thank you so much for sharing... Now, the xtra color in that bedroom was a very nice touch...curtains, crazy cool girl!!!! My goodness, I totally enjoyed watching the unpacking of each one! lol. Me? thinking linen. Such a wonderful culture they have in India for the use of the old saris. And , Yes! The fabrics are so soft, and the colors are so vibrant, that they inspire many uses. I hope that you will try some for your abode.

I absolutely adore these, have three vintage ones and plan on getting more. They come in so many colors and patterns. I got a few online and one at a thrift store. The are great for switching around for a new look. I have one over a glider rocker in my bedroom, use them as sofa throws, or toss on my bed for some color. They wash up great in the gentle cycle and so far have been indestructible to kitty claws. I left a fountain pen lying on one and it leaked a tiny bit and the stain came right out. I paid around $30 for sizes approx 50” x 60 to 80.”

@@LornaD_CottageNecessities i saw some jackets last year at a outdoor fair. Sadly, they were very boxy and just not flattering on me. A bathrobe would be nice, I think. There’s a vintage indoor mall near me that sells the blankets and totes and scarves too. I guess the possibilities are endless.
