वो कंठपुरा है। 'कंठ' alluding to bhgwn Shiva (the Neel Kantha), whom the villagers eventually start worshipping while rejecting local goddess Kenchamma. Symbolically representing their shift from local/regionalism to Nationalism. & thus in the end shown to live in a village called "काशी"पुर" (the abode of Shiva)
