This music and performance by Emerge reminds me of Frank Sinatra moment. Sinatra was asked in an interview in the early 50s what do you think about Elvis Presley? Sinatra said I don't know, he is indeed brilliant but I don't understand his music. I have never heard his kind of music and never heard anyone sing like that. It was indeed genuine and birth of one most the most iconic genre of music called Rock N' Roll. When I first listened to this song, I had the same feeling. I have never heard anyone sing newah song like that before. Completely genuine, novel and original expression of newah lyrics in mesmerizing music. Hope this is sign of wave of many to come.

I love elvis too but he didn't give birth to rock n roll. His version was must more popular. Black artists like chuck berry little richard muddy waters were the pioneers of rock n roll but since they were black their music was not commercially popular

@@PR-nl7kn I do agree with you that Elvis did not give birth to Rock N’ Roll. My intent was to highlight the tremendous change of guard taking place during that time musically and how new genre of music was coming along. To me Rock N’ Roll however is more than music pioneered by black artists. Little Richards, Chuck Berry are still the giants of Rock N’ Roll and Muddy Water always been one of my favorite giants of Urban Chicago Blues. However, to me Rock N’ Roll not only borrows from black artist from Blues, but had influences in the early days from southern Jazz and even gospel. One of the biggest influences we cannot forget is the uncountable mark of the country music in Rock N’ Roll. Artists like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly and even to some extent Johnny Cash brought country music influence to Rock N’ Roll. This is the reason why to me Rock N’ Roll was one of the art forms which defied the racial barriers. White and black musicians together brought this remarkable art form to life. What makes Rock N’ Roll even more remarkable to me is that it was able to unite artists from different backgrounds and color when society was still deeply divided in American South in racial segregation. I hope every art form is as influential in terms of transforming societies like the genre of music we love called Rock N’ Roll.
