Pechiparai Reservoir is the largest day in Kanyakumari district. It is located in the foothills of the western Ghats In the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu of Pachiparai. It is located 43 kilometres (27 mil) from the capital Nagercoil. This dam is built across The Kotai River. This dam built was built during the period 1897-1906 by European engineer Mr. Minchin.

The construction was started by 1963 by chief minister of Tamilnadu Kamarajar and the completed in 1969. Height of Mathur Thottipalam is 103 Foot and length is about 1204 Foot
