I initially had the same opinion as you but now i found myself replaying all of them all the time. Remote control is super catchy despite being totally all over the place, 24 is incredible to me because i for one actually love gospel music and that one has such a unique dark inflection added to that sound, moon is TRANSCENDENT and top 5 from the album for me, heaven and hell is fuckin unreal too and admittedly junya is still kinda 6/10 for me

I honestly think Kanye wanted clean features so he didn’t have the parental advisory blocking the album art, I feel like he would’ve told them to not curse if they’re gonna be on his album
@zackmackin11313 жыл бұрын
most of them still swear in the songs, including kanye. they just cut out all the curse words because since kanye became a christian, he didnt want any of that to be included in his songs
@ghostintheInternet.mp43 жыл бұрын
Even if he kept the cursing I don’t think it would’ve had that parental advisory sign. If you look at his albums after MBDTF on any streaming platform the explicit versions don’t have that on the cover. I’m not sure what it is, but it looks like he doesn’t have to include it anymore. I’ve been meaning to look into why that is.

The album is a different themed project than his previous works. It’s beautiful stripped, sonically deconstructed and filled with eerie notes. The problem is that some guys were expecting a rap classic but it’s not. That’s why only true artists can relate to it. But people will only appreciate it years later just like 808 & Yeezus.

I'm ok with the possibility that alot of the lines aren't from Kanye's mind but I've always wondered what exactly he's writing and producing and what is his collaborators. He's a phenomenal artist either way, even if everything on an album was written and produced by someone else , Kanye would make it his own. It's akin to what a great director does in movies. A great director could have a movie that they don't write and they are never seen in the film, yet the personality of the film is very distinguishable as that director's voice.
