If you've ever returned to your hometown after a long absence and a bunch of new life experiences, you do end up feeling like a foreigner in some ways.That outsider feeling is what Ye is trying to convey by having his inner voice of yearning for home be performed by a guy with a British accent. "Homecoming" is actually a pretty bittersweet song in that regard, because it acknowledges that while Chi is Ye's home, it will never fully be his home again.
