I joined the military and was gone from home for 10 years. I relied on this song to make it back home and be with my friends and family. This song was my lifeline. I got out of the military and my family and friends were different. I came home but my home wasn't there. Listening to this song is like sitting in the past and I remember the good times. I wish I never joined so that I could have held onto what made me feel whole-family and friends. Now, I use the music that was out when I joined to remember the past. It gives me goosebumps. He began with soul sampling on his first album, to a baroque approach on his second album, then he incorporated electro/disco in his third..... all the way to his most recent album Yeezus, which was industrial hip-hop. He can mix genres, sample without difficulty, and is a VERY creative artist, who is overlooked because of his childlike antics.
