In India, design education is so expensive. Companies like IBM Google prefer students from top tier colleges like iit, nift or mit etc. If you have lot of money to burn then it good choice but if you are coming from middle class background then self learn and get internships in good startups. This gives you industry exposure as well as some good experience. But be aware in which company you are applying.

This is absolutely true..I am from DTU, Delhi in B.Des, I opt for this college because I thought this is a tier 1 engineering college so they will have good placements..but that's not true at all, and I can't explain the condition of faculty.. I just regret how I spent over 9 lakh for nothing, I learnt everything on KZbin itself and now looking for off campus placement

Before joining CSE i had visited some colleges in pune for design ....and one of them was ajeenkya dyp...I remember asking them to show their student's or facultie's portfolio ....and they showed me mowgli's photo from live action jungle book and gave me half an hour lecture on what 3d animation is. 🤷

Which is a better career option & which has better scope of growth? I finished my bachelors in interior design, I was not really interested in entering this field but due to parents pressure I had to. I like cars since childhood and was passionate about designing cars but my parents were not in the favour. I did some research about other careers in design and shortlisted a few, my first choice is obliviously Automotive & Transportation Design, then even Yacht Design caught my attention. Currently I'm pursuing a crash course in 3D animation (aim was to learn the tools & techniques to model a particular vehicle) but now even VFX seems pretty promising. Now I'm stuck in this loop, don't know which one to opt for.

Sometimes choice has to be made between what you love and what is relevant. It is good to explore different streams but focus on employability i.e. where it is easier to build great career. Connect with professionals on LinkedIn. They will show you the path.

the only reason i am pausing my mdes from Govt and Private... Syllabus are old in NID /IITs/Other govt design colleges as well... offcourse the exposure and alumni network is different there.. but in case of private colleges like kalinga /Chitkara/Jain/UPES etc all are basically providing certificate course in 2 years (named as degree) with a fees above 12Lacs... I found the best courses/syllabus only in abroad like ASU/Tu Delft/MichiganState/Georgia tech/Caltech etc.. they have the best structure for design(offcourse you need to have a technical bg for that but that's what Modern design is). But its useless if you don't have scholarships to pay for those courses..

Hello sir im currently studying bsc. Design in animation and VFX Jab mey university aaya tha collage visit karne tab Mujhe faculty wale ney 1st year mey ye teach karenge 2nd mey ye ye industry level software sekhoge. Oh bade bade VFX artist and celebrity ka photos dekhaya, Apne students ka kam dekhaya. Use time mujhe bohat acha laga aur admission le leye Abhi mey 2nd year mey jane wala hu aur course k name mey photo kichne aur 5-6 class ka drawing sekha ra h, animation k naam mey bahar sey koi local institute ka teacher bulak 1 week mey khatam kar ra h. Ye course k name mey bohat bada scam ho ra h, agar koi student aawaj uthage ga toh admission cancle karne ki dhamki dete h aur agar koi xor k jana chante h toh document nahi dete aur pura course ka fee jama karne ko bolte h ( all academic documents university pehele hi le jata h admission k time mey) Iss situation mey students na oh kuch sikh pa rahe h na toh course xor pa rahe h. Please ap kuch kar sakte ho toh mey app ko iss university ki reality bahar lane mey help karsakta hu

What to choose: Brand value and alumni network of college but with a fees of total 14 lakh OR New college with low alumni network with a fees of 8-9 lakh (For M.des)

If you've already done bdes then maybe u might not need the brand value or alumni network...but if you started from mdes then you definetly need brand value and alumni cuz you need a source of income to fix the 14 lakhs worth of dent on your pocket. instead you could go for colleges who are in perfect ratio...good brand value, subpar level of alumni network and slightly less expensive college.(This is just a suggestion tho..i am a cse student so im probably not qualified enough to speak about Mdes ...tho i plan to join Mdes after I complete cse)

I will suggest if you are looking for private college the best option is Strate in bangalore. Just be sure, it all depends on your skills, time management, taking frequent feedbacks from your faculties. I believe they have the best placements in india, since its also one of the colleges linked with strate france.

Yes & No. No if you'll rely only on college for learning. The industry will change in every 3-5 years (and that's the case with all the other industries as well). Yes if you are ready to upgrade your skills and knowledge regularly.

The ROI makes no sense , only a handful get packages above 15 lpa and no more than 5 students would get a scholarship. Also the degree would be ugc affiliated so there's no scam in that.

Nid is government... unless and until you belong in some cast there will be some leniency if you're applying from open category..you need to give your 200 percent of 100. You'll need high quality concepts and drawing too along with the best preparation in gk and basic 10th knowledge.
