You said that's the nicest gas tank you've ever seen for a 1979? Well a few days ago I 1979 xr250 from a guy who bought it new and rode it for 546 miles and then for some reason put it in his spare bedroom in his house in 1980 and it stayed there until I bought it just a few days ago. Inside the gas tank looks brand-new like it just came off of the assembly line. Everything on this bike is absolutely perfect. It has all the original decals and stickers. It still has the DID stickers on the rims of the wheels. A little cleaning and my 79 might be museum Worthy

What an amazing bike, I love the xr250, i have a 1998 xr250. But I'm in the middle of a little facelift on it. The rear fender, front fender, and side covers are off a 2001 cr 250. It looks so wicked.

I don’t wanna sound like a know it all, but the 1979 XRs came out with HONDA (font) across the tank. The 1980 XR’s received the Honda wing. I had a 1979 XR250 right out of the showroom ... fun bike. If I had storage, I would buy this bike. Love vintage bikes.

That's my kind of Putt-Putt right there I love that xr250 a buddy of mine had one just like that Ken. In 1979 him and I took off from Paradise California up to Lassen Volcanic National Park to spend the weekend on our bikes I had my CB750 and him on his 250 kept up with me on the highway all the way up there man course he did like to get off the edge of the road and get some dirt trails going up the highway which was kind of funny watching him do that. We had a blast had a good time up there man . Them Hondas are awesome indestructible bikes.

I remember Honey Run Road outside of Paradise California! must have been in about 1970! my dad had an old Honda and me and my brother both wrod on the back of it with my dad down Honey Run Road. do you remember that? I haven't been back to California in fifty years

@@markeverson5849 absolutely used to spend a lot of time there by The Covered Bridge Honey Run Road swimming metal detecting hanging out with my friends and having a good time. Looks brand new. Everybody needs one of these. Ultimate fun trail bike. Ok, maybe the 350 n 400 were fun but the Xtra weight is noticeable. These 250s can be whipped around a tight trail pattern much easier.

Wow, looks much better than mine! I am still using mine to check cows on our beef farm! Decals on tank are incorrect though, should say HONDA in large block letters with no wing! Also, should say XR250 on side panels. Did you notice the handlebars are rigid mounted to the triple trees, makes for rough ride, and the brakes are weak on these! 23" front tire was used through 1980 I think?
