I've been riding for 50yrs this year,ive ridden many different bikes in those years.I have an '04 midnight that I've owned for 9 years now.I won't sell it until the day comes that I can't ride anymore (I'm 62,so hopefully that's a long way off). Roadstars are AWSOME bikes,I've ridden all over Texas,Arkansas and Missouri. It always starts and runs great all the while averaging 42-44 MPG !!!

Did you have any problems with it? Heard that they're pretty much bulletproof. I'm thinking about getting 04 1700.

I road a 2001 Silverado for 16 years and it was all you say it is. Every continental state, including AK, and it never broke down. Recently bought a 2020 Electraglide and am extremely impressed with it; yet when I took it in for its 1K tune-up I spied a later model Silverado in the HD dealer’s pre-owned section (obviously a trade-in) and had a huge surge of nostalgia, for all my past great rides on that machine. And this one was less than $5K, 3K I think, in perfect shape, w/

An Interested Party would you say any bike with less than 20,000 miles is a teenager regardless of engine type
@aninterestedparty14264 жыл бұрын
I would feel less confident saying so, in general, for a few reasons. The first would be, that like the often-called “bullet proof” Honda engines, the Yamaha engines are super durable too, generally speaking. I don’t know enough to say that about all bikes. Secondly, some bikes like some cars are known for being driven harder, which is a rider, not a manufacturer issue, so suffer more wear and tear per mile. I think the Silverados were not bikes that people “red lined” so much, though it could be a lot of fun to push it at times. And though I did have a Kuryakyn hyper-charger & Barron tach on mine, I still was basically a conservative rider, and mIntained it religiously. But
@charleswilson45264 жыл бұрын
An Interested Party well I can totally see an R1 with 40000 miles on it not exactly being ridden like a Vulcan 1600 with 40000 miles. I always heard large V twins can get up there in mileage due to them being low stress... kind of like panther cars and big Chevy Tahoe and suburbans go 200k plus
@aninterestedparty14264 жыл бұрын
Exactly so. The ‘01 Silverado I had would rev at 2250@65mph, and it had only 5 gears. The 2020 Electraglide I have now, w/ 6 gears, revs at 2500@65mph, still pretty low I imagine compared to most other non-cruisers at similar speeds. They say that animall species with faster average heart rates don’t live as long in general as their slower beating breathren. Maybe a lesson there?

I just picked up a 99 roadstar silverado with only 9917 miles on it ...from a friend ..got a great deal ...cleaned it up ...looks brand new...love the bike in the video...color scheme is tasty and not too flashy...

I bought my 2000 Roadstar in the spring of 2002. The previous owner traded it in for a smaller bike after he put cobra exhaust on it.. It had 2100 miles on it, and it now has 45000 miles and is still going strong. I paid $8900 for it, and last year, someone offered me $4500 for it... it's not for sale at any price. I'm 64 years old and this is my LAST bike.

Eddie B. Eddie this is the first Silverado Roadstar that I've spent any time on I put over 600 miles on it last weekend I'm absolutely falling in love with this bike and I've owned and some very very expensive Harley Cruisers brand new ones or just something about the way this engine revs so crisp and clean Lee and the exhaust note is off the hook the bike runs perfectly with the Dynojet kit I don't even have to pull the choke to start it it's one of the best running carbureted motorcycles I've ever written and the ride is absolutely like butter even with a passenger this thing pulls like a freight train hundred miles an hour in 4th gear cruise at 1:05 no problem and 5th yes I'm in love with his bike the more I ride it the more I don't want to sell it sorry for all the typos This is speech to text and I'm really busy but you get the idea

Kaplan Cycles Yip ! Damn right . I sent this to one of my Harley Diehard friends. Started talkin crap ! Lol- that you can get these on aisle 3 , WaLmart ! BWAHAHAHAHA 😂😂 I said look dog .. it’s true ! Millenials are into fast sport bikes. However , if they do buy a cruiser ... they ain’t gonna pay no 30 k for an HD w/ a “ problematic “ engine ! Sorry , they’ll pay under 10 k and be THRILLED !! It is what it is ... not American ? HELL ... neither is HD ! ( chinese , Japanese & other ) sorry 😐

The absolute best value for a big V twin cruiser available. Period. You can get these things dirt cheap in some parts of the country (in paid $1500 for a perfect 2000 with tons of good mods clean as can be original owner). 3rd Roadstar I've had. Last forever, bullettproof, comfortable etc.
