I bought an Avenger A7 new in 1968. It was fun and fast and I LOVE hearing that sound again. Lots of stories but a love affair with that bike stayed with me. I tried to find another one without luck so I bought a new Royal Enfield Classic 500 in the fall of 2019. My kids think I am too old but I love getting bugs in my teeth again as I smile at the sound and feel again. Thanks for bringing it back. I never drove it quite quickly up to but not over 70. A friend of mine did once. I sat on his bike when he went past me at 115 and he said it still had more but he ran out of road. Dunlop Gold Seal K70 we’re the stock tires. I remember them well because I painted the raised lettering white several times. Love the memories you brought back! Thanks again for your craft!

FRICIN AWSOME shape ‼️💯 bike is so clean and original well preserved , cool back story , this is the bike that the early 70's h1 and h2 350 two stroke rockets were designed after , and a lot of other bikes tried to copy the Kawasaki two stroke street bikes 👍👍

The RD350 was considered a giant killer in its day with its 39 hp 350 twin but this machine made 41 hp from a 350 twin. It must have been a real wheelie machine.

I never had the pleasure of riding the old avenger , I've only seen one , iconic gas tank graphics , hung around a long while , I had two Suzuki "s T500 twin 2stroke and a Suzuki GT 550 3 cylinder two stroke ram air somewhere around 76' or so , I was only 16 years old , them FRICIN bikes was like riding a rocket with a heavy ass frame , I would get of them bikes and be shaking , not from being scared but fatigued from holding on to them blistering fast bikes , god luv em ‼️💯👍

All two stroke engines are self supercharging.... That's something that nobody seems to understand these days as it was explained to me in Honda School.. our instructors name was pops Yoshimura who designed and built and raced the CR 125 ... When the Piston is on the downstroke the rotary valve closes and compresses the mixture in the crankcase first before the transfer ports open and allows the compressed mixture to enter the combustion chamber where it is compressed the second time as the Piston travels up just before it fires supercharging the engine

Kawasaki did make a prototype 500 rotary, however, they went with the triple design to make more of an impact in the US market. Kawasaki produced the KR 250and 350 in line rotary twins, won the world championship on them in late 70s.

There used to be different cutaways you could get for the rotary valve and the more cutaway the pipper they got... I would turn this thing into a beast with a set of tuned expansion Chambers is what they need with only about 1/3 of the valve the rest cut out so they scream about 10 grand but that's me this thing is perfect the way it is.... Yamaha accessories had different cutaways on their rotating valves also back in the day... The beauty of the roadie valve is it's easy to change out so you can have the same ports that you got now and all you have to do is change the rotary valve to make it horsepower on the top end or mid range or just putting around in the trails on the trail bikes that had rotary valves.... Of course I'm singing to the choir here cuz you've all seen the can ams with their rotary valves cuz they had different cutaways for the valves for those also you put a valve in for trail riding a different valve for hair scrambles and another different valve to make it scream on top end for Motocross

Great example of the breed and, reportedly, as fast or faster than a Yamaha RD350. Reportedly, Kawasaki built a prototype 500cc rotary valve twin based on the A-7, as well as the 3-cylinder piston-port engine that we came to know as the H-1 Mach III. According to some sources, while the rotary-valve twin made competitive power (as compared to the triple), Kawasaki believed, correctly, that the 3-cylinder would be a "sexier" and better selling proposition. There have been attempts to have a three-cylinder, rotary-valved, two stroke bike engines using a spiral-geared shaft off the crankshaft to drive a rotary valve mounted behind the center cylinder (seen them on the Internet), but none ever made it to production. Rotary valve-equipped two-strokes tended to have wider power bands than the piston-port variety, because the intake timing could be independent of the rising and falling of the piston, and more power back-in-the-day because of an additional boost port on the back of the cylinder. Can-Am/Bombardier also made prototype 500cc rotary-valved, liquid-cooled twins (two of which reportedly survive) back in the mid-1970s. www.canned-ham.com/road-bike/

LOL they did about 32-36 miles to the gallon and the fuel tank held I think about a 1 and 1/2 gallon . i rode it one day with out a helmet and have been bald every since. the bike was defiantly not easy to ride especially if you gave it full noise in the first couple of gears . for somone who has never taken it out of the parking lot seems to know a lot about it.

Had one from 1972 Europa. Mine could go 180 kph 111 miles prh. The probleem is if you drive hard it cost piston. Also the frontbrake is sensitive to brakee the inner iron ring inside the wheel.
