The writing and acting is just brilliant. The expressions and voice intonation of both Kareena and Shahid are marvelous. They did their characters so realistically. Her extrovert talks, her screaming and trying to blame him when she missed the train, then her breakdown when she missed it again (the forehead grabbing was so natural). They might look exaggerated now, but they were in fact completely real back in the day. Everything they said was accurate - her talkative nature (funny misconceptions like can't tell the difference between mountain and hill), his depression where he doesn't speak and then lashes out even inappropriate words ("brothel wali baat theek nahi thi"). Script like that make movies like these come alive. Unfortunately people nowadays don't have any individual personality or energy in them, even makes the movies look dull. People were so friendly and even unfriendly at times, but everyone knew how to live with each other. Now the light has just gone from everyone's eyes. 😢
