It’s a art of perfection for sure. I haul with a dump trailer behind my ram 3500 and my first tailgate was complete crap. After a few runs I found 4wd low at a certain rpm depending on how thick I need to spread works every time after many trials of calculation. This last summer I got pretty good with doing it backwards like this installing new drives by trailer. A good driver definitely saves you time and money.

I've been watching a lot of this guys channel. I find channels similar to his and always end up disappointed due to the channels actual message. I've enjoyed because Kapper and myself are two different colors, different states, background and creeds yet we have a bunch of similarities. Ford owners, wanting to do a farm, building a ranch style home beside a lake. I like the channel because it's not politics, it's not who life matters, it's not mexico, it's not judging. He's not wearing shirts with his ideologies on them, he's not wearing a hate groups hat or publicizing any type of motive. It's just a man building his home and enjoying his land and toys. That's exactly what I find interesting because that's what I want to do.

It could have a switch to prevent the front brakes from coming on... And way be for your time.. When i was early 20s. Some trucks with only 1 drive axle and a tag axle.. Has a huge v-belt that fit between the duals (front to back) So the back tires would pull..

yeah we been doing this for 37 years, nowa days geo fabric 2" crushed concrete base about 5" deep, then geogrid 21a "spec" crushed about 3" deep makes rock solid base can even top with fresh asphalt or poured concrete at a later date and good forever. We dont like backing across inside corners of piles of crushed material with the max load boxes up. I always start from furthest/far edge and work my way to the straightest inside edge "goin forward" rears locked in 2 low. Lots of bad stuff can occur blind backing, trust me! think power lines and tree branches. In my opinion best to back to within 5 feet of garage, pop the pto, start the box up and leave a short pile for the guys to shovel and rake up the foundation/edge of garage floor, etc. then move ahead at a controlled rate bumping the "ram up" lever as needed to keep a metered rate of flow thru the gate. The box is usually empty before its ever 3/4 of the way up. That sand was no problem to back thru full Imho. just sayin. That guy was a broker/owner and wanted to help dudes out but time is money in the flat rate cartage business!

Yeah you should have looked into Stabili-grid and similar soil stabilization (solid) grid systems, not the expanding ones which suck, as it would offer better load capacity as it can support quite the weight and keeps the gravel from sinking into the dirt/mud over time. Also helps keep the gravel in place. I saw some of the other videos and you mentioned in comments to one person who asked that you use one inch size which is nice, but still you will see pitting and rutting from enough use over time.
@kapperoutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I may see some rutting, but we have minimal traffic on our road so it was worth it to me to not have the dang big stone keep heaving up and making a rough ride and puncturing tires.. Once it all gets hard packed, there should be minimal sinking any more even with the smaller stone. Its much more important how the road is drained than it is the base stone. I was also trying to reduce some cost and it has worked quite well so far with the road. We've survived 12 inch rain storms and heavy, heavy downfalls, and one spring so far and the road is doing pretty good. I was planning on adding another layer of gravel yet, but due to over run costs that has not happened yet. Thanks.
@Joshua79C7 жыл бұрын
I thought it was working out nice so far and yeah as I also commented on other segments on the gravel I used 3/4 on a parking pace that was set close to a hil side and thus why I heed warning of settling. Bigger is better at least for base layer but as it settles it should not give you drainage issues, even in my situation it drained just as well as when it was first layed. Plowing was not an issue unless the blade was set down too heavy and you seem to not get much snow as New England states with Nor'Easter type fall. But our snow falls are nothing compared to North West or Lake Effect. Was just recommending you to a neat product that helps reduce if not eliminate settling and provides better keeping of stones, ie lack of respreading or further spread from normal settling. Typical used by those when they got the extra money when it comes time to renew or refresh their parking and drive ways. Especially with the less than one inch size of crushed gravel. Such as in your case you could just get to cover entrance of garage/shed/shop building if that gets rutting issues more than you prefer or can handle, which is not much issues when you got a tractor such as the Kioti. But when buying to use for heavier machinery down the driveway, you can buy enough just for the tracks as they are sized at 4 feet by 4 feet, even with spacing between stretches as they do interlock, would not be much issue as it is built up like railroad ballast. You got a long driveway for sure since I got to this and other videos you posted showing the driveway in construction mode from your recent video test of your drone automatic tracker/follow mode. In the meantime if your real curious just look up Stabili-grid or EcoTerr, for more info and videos when you got some time to spare. Kudos to that driver for his fine tuned skill.

I'll check it out thanks. I could maybe use it for the garage entrance and/or any bad spots.
