How tragic that he was killed at age 32 by an avalanche. This pleasant symphony might have been followed by even greater works. Alas!

Credits to conductor.. conducting it without score.. I considered myself to know well that symphony.. but i would have respect to have score by my side :) anyhow good to see this music surviving trough the time :) Again listening to Karlowicz after years ..

Since 2016, Maestro Bergmann has been the artistic director of the Mieczysław Karłowicz (!) Philharmonic in Szczecin, Poland.

Pretty gutless performance (might be more the conductor than the orchestra), but glad this fabulous symphony is being played more. Not many recordings but I recommend the Warsaw Philharmonic / Antoni Wit performance instead.

I know his fine tone poems but didn't realise that he wrote a symphony and it seems I have missed something here. Will check out the Wit recording -he's among the best of Polish conductors.
